OYO Hotel has charged us $459 following our stay from August 6th to August 8th based in a FALSE smoking claim. On the morning of our departure (approximately 1 hour after checking out), the hotel charged our credit card $459. We were informed, that in the morning of our departure, the smoke detection alarm device of our room had been triggered. The money was charged as a penalty fee based on a (FALSE) claim that we had been smoking or vaping in the room. However, none of us smoke, and no sound of smoke alarm went off during our stay or was there any indication of this while we were in the room (we left the hotel at about 07.30 am). At the check-out, the receptionist assured us that everything was fine, and that the security deposit would be released. The charge was applied after we left, without any prior notice or opportunity to contest the accusation in person (we even suggested in our first communications they could go to the room and smell, to confirm there was no sign of smoking / vaping). Since then, we have made several attempts to contact the hotel directly, as well as through our travel agency, requesting a resolution. The hotel has ignored all communications and just replied twice, saying to contact our financial institution for dispute charge assistance. When we tried to dispute the charge with our bank, they informed us that the issue must be resolved directly with the hotel. As a result, although we have tried to contact the hotel several times, we have been unable to recover the $459, and we know we have been abusively and unfairly charged. Read less

MARIA! I would rebook this hotel just because of one employee who works there named Maria. We were having a negative experience on the trip and the only reason we ended up having a good experience was because of Maria. She was so kind and did everything she could to give my friend and myself the best experience possible. My trip was towards the end of June 2024 and almost 4 months later I am writing this review because that’s how much Maria impacted our trip, I had to make sure I wrote this up to make sure she got some credit for being an amazing employee and human. Maria literally made our experience worth it during this trip! Read less

Location is great if you like the bustle of Times Square which is frankly, boring after day one. Thousands of people. The constant stench of marijuana and never ending noise. I’d look for a hotel off the beaten track a bit next time. Room was really small, barely bigger than the bed but the staff were good. Clean and fit for purpose but nothing to shout about. Bed was squeaky but very comfortable. Not sure if that was the bed or my exhaustion but nonetheless, it did its job. My advice, if you don’t like crowds, is go somewhere else and make Times Square part of your exploring. Times Square Review to follow! Read less

The room was very dirty. There was black mold everywhere. Hairs in the bed, and dirty spots on towels and on the bedlinnen. Very very poor. The bed matrass was so worn out that you are laying on the bedframe. The room was so small that they could not vacuum everywhere, therefore there was dirty stuff under the bed. I would not recommend.
