BED BUGS AT THE RENAISSANCE TIMES SQUARE HOTEL
I stayed at the Renaissance Times Square Hotel between July 19 and 26, 2024.
On the morning of July 25, I woke up with some bites (red pimples) on my right arm, which as the day went by caused me a strong burn and finally became infected, swelling and filling with pus. The bites were from bed bugs. We immediately reported to reception. The guy at the front desk kindly apologized to us and immediately changed our room, to spend our last night at the hotel without the risk of further bites. Another girl from the hotel, who came to the room and took pictures of my arm, told us that the hotel's insurance company would contact us.
The next day we saw how the room was disinfected when my partner returned to it to remove some forgotten clothes. I must emphasize that we had already seen the disinfection brigade at the hotel the days before I was bitten.
In the following days, after returning to Spain, since the bites were already infected pimples that caused me great pain, I had to go to the emergency medical service, where I was prescribed medication, specifically antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and antihistamines.
I waited a long time for the hotel insurance company to contact me. They didn't. I filed a complaint through the Marriott chain, demanding that they take care of the situation. They told me that the hotel would contact me. They never did. It is shameful what happened and that no manager of the hotel has contacted me.
It is unfortunate that a hotel of this category has bed bugs, but even more so is the terrible attention received.

Disappointing stay. Only positive with this hotel is room size is good. It’s noisy, service is average at best, and the food offerings are pitiful for a hotel at this price point. Marriott Marquis which is close by is a better option. Would not stay here again.

The concierge staff was AWESOME!!! Brucha, Davina and Matthew's tourist tips were INSTRUMENTAL in making my visit to New York great. After three or four days hearing there tips, I became much more comfortable navigating tourist New York!!!
