The bookong and check-in process was unnecessarily complex and time-consuming. While I understand the need for security measures regarding physical card verification, the implementation was overly rigid. Most frustratingly, after rebooking our $500/night room, we were locked out of our room at 1130 at night exhausted because staff failed to mention we needed to check in again. An unexpected $30 additional fee only added to this chaotic situation. The staff experience was mixed - several employees were genuinely friendly and helpful, while others seemed inadequately trained to handle basic guest concerns. The breakfast buffet, though offering various options, had ridiculous wait times where guests were herded like cattle - unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. The overall experience felt poorly managed and bizarrely disorganized for an expensive property. The constant hurdles and lack of communication made for a very frustrating stay. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not book with another Riu property in the future. Read less

Nice hotel and relatively quiet despite being in the middle of time square. Rooms are small but arnt they all in New York! There was a flashing light from the smoke detector which was very annoying. Breakfast is a nightmare! You have to get in the lift to the lobby to queue to then go to level 5 to queue again! Definitely would recommend only… Read more

The location of this hotel can't be beat for a visit to NYC. You are steps from Times Square, an easy walk to so many attractions, Broadway, food, etc. Our room was small but worked great for 2 people. My luggage fit under the bed so it was out of the way. The entire property was clean, safe and every staff member met me with a smile. As… Read more

The entire property was clean, safe and every staff member met me with a smile. As mentioned the elevators of a morning can be a wait. My daughter and I took the stairs down each morning from the 12th floor but we were able to get on one going up with minimal wait of an afternoon. We skipped the breakfast chaos, but I would say if you are die hard hotel breakfast person go early. We simply went across the street to Dunkin each day. I would not hesitate to stay here again. We checked in very quickly, we had room 4406 which was a really high room with a view of Times Square, the room was great and very clean, bed was comfy, bathroom had a big shower and was big and clean. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard. Breakfast was a concern after reading some reviews, we had no problem what so ever, we got there early every morning around 6.50 and we went straight up and seated straight away, great choice of hot and cold food and drinks. All the staff were really friendly, we used the bar in the hotel which was really nice, happy hour between 4 and 8 pm, great mojhitos , great choice of cakes and sandwiches which we had a couple of nights. I would recommend to anyone to stay here, with Times Square red steps just a 2 minute walk away it couldn’t be any better situated. If I ever come back to New York I will definitely stay here.
