Situated on the corner of Lafayette Square bordering the White House and close to numerous downtown sites including Smithsonian museums, war memorials and vast green parks. Transfer time from Dulles International Airport: 35 minutes.

237 rooms and suites on 12 floors. All with air-conditioning, 55” HDTV, Bose© sound system, mini-bar*, coffee maker, separate bath and rain shower, hairdryer and iron and board. Superior Rooms are 370-400 sq ft and have 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. 

Deluxe Luxury Rooms are 400-450 sq ft and have 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Junior Suites are 426-475 sq ft and have a separate living area with additional TV, with 1 king-size bed in the bedroom and pullout sofa bed in the living area, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. 

Opaline Bar & Brasserie (classic French food, seasonal dishes and cocktails, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Fitness centre. Concierge. Laundry/dry-cleaning and ironing service*. Complimentary WiFi.

The hotel was located near the White House, a quick Uber to the sights we wished to see. Hotel staff was friendly, check in easy. We dined one night at the hotel restaurant, Opaline and enjoyed the dinner there, plus we had breakfast in the breakfast cafe one morning and enjoyed the selection and the coffee. The room was nicely appointed and clean. The only negative about the room was the bed - the mattress was bit on the soft side. The valet parking, while convenient, was expensive but in line with the prices for the area at $75.00 per day. And the "Urban Experience Fee" of $30.00 per day seemed like a ruse to get more money from you. I would rather see a flat fee without the "bonus" added in. Read less

Our stay at Sofitel was lovely. We were kindly greeted; our room was perfect, the morning coffee was delicious and the location was just right. Karla the GM does a fantastic job and it is clear by how well the hotel runs. It was very busy during our stay but all seem to go flawlessly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Reception is helpful and efficient. Nice with free coffee next to the reception in the morning. The breakfast is of really tasty and of good quality. Good way to be prepared for a full day of sightseeing. As the weather was good we had drinks and dinner served outside on the terrasse. The was delicious. I used the gym in the mornings. It´s small, but had the machines and equipment need to do cardio and strength training. We would like to come back again. Read less

Location is great. We had a suite , layout was perfect, just the view was probably the worst of the hotel. Room service was great, manager helpful, and restaurant offered good food, we hate outside on terrace . Bed was confortebarble and tvs easy to operate , ( Netflix, Google etc)
