The Plaza New York

The hotel

Feel like you’ve been here before? You have, in the movies anyway! From Home Alone 2 and Bride Wars, to Sleepless in Seattle, the location has proved a blockbuster backdrop for some firm film favourites. The Plaza certainly lives up to its name, and being a National Historic Landmark it’s full of old-world elegance and grandeur. Just south of Central Park, there’s plenty of places to eat and drink right on your doorstep, but some of the hotel’s own restaurants are not to be missed. And not forgetting the aptly named Champange Bar, where you can sip on some bubbles whilst looking out on Fifth Avenue and The Pulitzer Fountain.

It’s a beautiful ambience and the service is great. There is a wide variety of choices abs if it’s first time , can be confusing to start with. Shalim was very informative and friendly. The small sandwiches and pastries are very good. Will definitely try to come back.

High tea at the Palm Court is a MUST! Excellent food, atmosphere and service! Everything is delicious and beautiful, friendly and attentive service, an essential stop for a NYC itinerary. I went for my birthday and the staff treated me with a special treat to celebrate!

Myself and my partner attended without a booking in order to enjoy a birthday cocktail at the famous Plaza Hotel which was a bucket list thing for me to do. The south-American lady on the welcome podium at the Palm Tree lounge was very pleasant and professional and seated us. Another waitress took our cocktail order a short time later who was also professional. The cocktails are approx $30 each, and when I’m paying £10-15 GBP for a cocktail back home in the local corner house, this really isn’t all *that* extortionate for the location, surroundings and quality. I had a classic espresso martini and my partner had a French martini (I think?!) Both were great! The gratuity is added to the bill and you get a nice postcard with pre-paid postage to send to someone back home too, or to keep for yourself like we did! Read less

Our family had tea at the plaza. Our waiter Fariz was excellent. It was a very fun experience. It is a little pricey but worth doing once with the family. . . ............................................................... For some reason, this review requires 200 characters.
