The hotel

Boutiquey and on a street buzzing with the bluegrass sounds of music mecca The Station Inn, Thompson Nashville is the latest luxury hotel opening in The Gulch. When you’re not exploring the district’s treasures, you can be viewing them through your bedroom’s floor-to-ceiling windows as you tap into its free WiFi, through the gym’s wall of glass, or from the rooftop bar with a cocktail in hand. Proud of their Nashville address, the team have curated treats which give an authentic taste of the region: there are the local flavours in your room’s minibar; the Alabaman coffee in its Killebrew café (which also promises a pastry counter of naughty accompaniments); and the menu of L.A. Jackson, which taps into the best Southern breweries, with their drinks served alongside sharing plates, tasty snacks, and classic dishes.

The location was great. The hotel and room were clean. That is about where the good things stop. No on sight parking, which is a bummer but there is an unassociated parking garage across the street. The location was great. The hotel and room were clean. That is about where the good things stop. No on sight parking, which is a bummer but there is an unassociated parking garage across the street. The night staff talked about a news story of a hotel night manager getting caught by a guest doing something rather gross to my WIFE. Now if my wife was either talking about something similar or inviting the conversation, I wouldn't bat an eye. However, we were checking in and she was quietly looking around the lobby as she enjoyed the decor. The morning of checkout staff was also unfriendly. Having worked in hospitality, I thought the typical "how was your stay" or "how can I help" was standard, but I assume only certain places do that. I am a big believer in most people do not leave good reviews, only bad ones. But I am leaving this in hopes the hotel sees it and changes. Read less

From the moment we arrived at the Thompson we were received by the most courteous, professional and friendly people. The entire experience was wonderful. The Thompson is a credit to The Gulchin City of Nashville, Tennessee, a place I look forward to visiting again.

Not willing to work with people who are there for special occasions unless you are willing to slip the clerk an extra $100
