The hotel

Like a beautiful, glass puzzle box, this newcomer to Seattle’s luxury boutique hotel scene stands just a block away from Pike Place Market and the waterfront. As such it commands disarming views of Puget Sound through to the distant Olympic Mountains from The Nest – the Thompson Seattle’s urbane rooftop bar and outdoor living room – and many of its rooms and suites – through pulse-quickening, floor-to-ceiling windows. Decorated with elegant materials given quirky contemporary life through an understated colour palette, the look and feel is very much 'comfortable luxury residence'; something that’s only enhanced by a 24-hour fitness centre, complimentary WiFi, and California Kitchen, a restaurant that turns the finest locally sourced ingredients into dishes that become lifelong memories.

First trip to Seattle, took a chance and it paid off. Great location and hotel! Service was excellent all the way around. Did not have a chance to try the restaurant or The Nest. Would highly recommend and would stay here again!

$700 a night for a dime sized room with an AC that blew no air. Quite lovely when it’s super hot outside. The location is great. The Nest was good, but the umbrellas were “pieces of crap” as described by our wait staff. If you’re looking for shade up there, don’t.

We blindly chose the Thompson Hotel because of the close location to downtown sites we planned to visit. We got there to find they had upgraded us to a waterfront view without extra charge. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well appointed, and as expected, the location perfect. Our only complaint was no ice in the ice machine on our floor but when we mentioned it on our way out to dinner, we found it remediated when we got back. We were able to leave our car for free after check out as we explored downtown more until time to go to the airport. Great choice that we would repeat if we’re there again. Read less

I had several times it was soo good. Martha our waitress made it feel like a bed and breakfast and gave us the red carpet treatment . The nest has spectacular views with a creative drink menu. This was my father's day gift for my 78 yr old dad as I sent him off on a ballroom dancing cruise. He was truly impressed with the hotel. Read less
