Very well located on I-drive. It is surrounded by some of the best bars and restaurants (recommend Millers, Ole Red and Outback) Conveniently close to a Walgreens supermarket/drug store, Five Guys, Subway etc. The room was basic but fine. The old motel type construction has been updated with new fittings and new bathrooms. The shower in particular was excellent. The twin queen beds comfy and with enough (4) pillows per bed. We slept well despite noise from the nearby interstate and the very noisy air conditioning unit which wasn’t updated in the refurbishment. It’s the old fashioned under-window motel type of unit which worked well but was noisy. There was a microwave, coffee machine and refrigerator in our room. The latter was so cold it froze everything inside! Not often that happens with hotel fridges but better than being too warm I guess. The only real negative is one thing that others have mentioned before - dirty floors in the rooms. Our feet were black every time we walked on them. It’s as if the hotel removed the out-dated carpet which the cleaners used to vacuum with ease and replaced it with the hard laminate flooring without giving them mops to clean it. The rest of the room was tidied well daily but the floor remained grubby throughout our stay. I actually had to wash my feet again each time after being in the room so that I could put socks on! We didn’t use the park shuttle bus so I can’t comment on that. For flexibility we used Lyft (same as Uber) to get to and from the parks each day which was cheaper than taking the rental car and paying for parking. A typical package holiday hotel. It ticks the boxes required by airlines and travel agents so that’s where the bulk of the guests come from. During our 10 night stay in October, most of the other guests were either from the UK or Ireland. The pools area is pretty nice and we always found a sun lounger available. The pool bar however is over priced and changes more for a beer ($11-$12) than most of the nearby bars and restaurants do ($7-$9), which seems crazy. No wonder most people brought their own drinks down to the pool area. All in all I would still recommend the hotel. It strikes a fair balance for value and I have no real complaints about it overall. Honest review about Avanti Overall the hotel provided what we needed, a place to sleep after long days at Disney / Universal Studios. Would I stay here again? Unfortunately, the answer is NO. The positives are that this hotel is in a good location for restaurants and bars, there are some really nice places to eat on the doorstep. We found the beds comfortable and always had clean towels, the beds were also made daily. Apart from the beds being made, toilet roll and towels being replenished, NO other cleaning was done. Our shower, toilet and sinks were not cleaned during our two week stay. The floors were not swept or mopped either. The aircon is VERY loud but it is very effective and lovely and cold. The pool floor is full of sand and grit which is off putting and not nice to feel on your feet. SHUTTLES FOR DISNEY + ORLANDO The free resort shuttles were a big selling point for us when booking this hotel. PLEASE do NOT book if you are using as a base for Disney and will be using shuttles! There are 2x buses in the AM at 7:50am and 9:50am - and then 2x return buses at 7:50pm and 9:50pm. These times are so inconvenient - if you want to stay at Disney for the fireworks you have over an hour to wait for your bus home! They are also full to the brim and sometimes we had to stand for the 45min - 60min ride. The shuttle stops at several hotels and it takes a LONG time to get there. UBERs from Avanti to Disney are $20 - $35 depending on the time of day. Universal Studio is $7 - $15 in UBER. The shuttles to Universal are impossible to book, you can NEVER get a place booked. I think the $100 resort fee is expensive considering how little cleaning actually takes place and how unkempt the facilities are. I can also confirm that every single member of the team I spoke to were VERY rude, they just looked and acted like they really did not care. Answers to questions were short and abrupt, no smile or 'Good morning etc'. Every review on here about their attitude please believe it to be true. FOR ATTENTION OF MANAGEMENT We stayed from 1st Oct 24 - 15th Oct 24, as UK residents we are not subject to the same extreme weather as America and we were very scared about hurricane Milton. We came to reception to ask for some advice, the receptionist said he 'did not know what to advice' when I asked if we needed to prepare provisions etc. We then asked a different colleague the next day who said 'maybe get some food for the room'. We were expecting to get some information under our door etc about what the hotel would be preparing for, if we should prepare anything, if it was safe to be in our rooms etc. We got absolutely NOTHING which I find shocking, surely you have a duty of care to your residents? Overall the hotel is fine for a cheap, basic place to stay. Location is great but the shuttles to Disney and Universal Studios are really bad, if these were made more frequent then it would drastically have improved our stay. Management I URGE you to carry out 'secret shoppers' so you can see what you staff are like from a customer point of view. Read less

Firstly, resort is in a great location, and to get it out of the way quickly, we really enjoyed our stay there and would stay again. It is made up of three four storey buildings around the pool and bar (with rooms both front and back) and a fourth four storey building at the back of the bar overlooking a parking area. All blocks have a lift and laundry room and the usual drink and ice vending machines. We stayed in block 2, fourth floor overlooking the pool and found the location of the room great. Our room had a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, air dryer, tv, air con, safe, iron and ironing board and I presume the other rooms have the same. Maid service was every day and the room was generally very nice and a decent size. The pool area was really nice and clean and open from 7am to 11pm every day, and was in use for all that time. Lot of sunbeds and table/chairs with pool towels and ice water provided. Hotel has a shuttle bus to the parks (several times per day), but you do have to book on and was very busy on the return journey so we ended up getting an Uber. We had a couple of small issues when we were there - lights fused one day and safe became unprogrammed - but these were all dealt with really quickly and easily. If we had any niggles, they would be as follows: Air con is very noisy, so not relaxing if you leave on overnight: We felt the price of draft beer at the hotel bar was quite expensive compared to locally ($9 for plastic cup) and no happy hour. That said, the bar staff were really nice and helpful and did offer samples, etc. Lots of cleaning, maintenance going on and this wasn't particularly relaxing if you were by the pool. This could, however, be because of hurricane Milton the week before and so may not be a daily event. Read less
