The hotel

Get ready to be transported back in time, to a late-1800s New York. With its unique charm, you'll be sure to love Disney's Saratoga Springs the moment you step foot through the front doors. Your surrounds are rolling golf course greens and the calm Lake Buena Vista - sounds tranquil doesn't it? Talking of tranquil, you can treat yourself in the spa, and enjoy evening movies under the stars. But if tranquil isn't your thing, no problem! There's pools and waterslides galore, and you can be in the hustle and bustle of Disney Springs in no time at all, it's just a short boat ride away. If you're holidaying in a family or group, opt for a villa for plenty of room for everyone - the treehouse villas are particularly fun if you've got little ones (or even if you haven't!).

Recently stayed at this hotel after many of our friends recommended it and after staying at many Disney resorts over the years, I am inclined to agree that it was a brilliant resort. The food options themselves were excellent and even though we have few fussy eaters within our family, we managed to find something for everyone. Although the resort itself is quite a distance from the parks itself, the resort buses were very useful, although be aware that these buses can be extremely busy first thing in the morning and late at night, and many times we had to wait for the next bus as they were full. However, we decided to spend a lot of our time in Disney springs, which is a short walk away from the resort and meant that we avoided busy buses that headed that way. We were lucky enough that we could also see the nightly drone show from our room, so many nights we would get some food at Earl of Sandwich before walking back to the resort to see the show, perfect for our two little ones who don't like crowded areas. It was also a great added touch that we were able to attend additional hours events at the parks, and we'd return to the hotel during the day to rest and avoid the sun before heading to the quieter parks. This is our second trip at Saratoga Springs and I highly recommend it! The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and well-appointed. We had plenty of room for our party of 8 in the two bedroom villa. With so many pools on property, you can find the right fit for your group. We enjoyed a quiet pool each afternoon. We loved the gorgeous grounds,… Read more

My party of 3 adults and 3 children (older child, tween, & teen) had a pleasant stay at this updated, deluxe DVC resort this May. It was our first DVC/suite stay, which involved renting “preferred room” points from a third-party site. Overall, it’s a fantastic resort - quiet, well-maintained inside and out, and conveniently located across the water from Downtown Disney. PROS: Pretty Congress Park location section, with a side garden view (edge of lake); super cold air conditioning during 95+ degree hear wave; easy to request more linens (be specific with what you need); plenty of room; full sized fridge, sink, dishwasher, oven/stove, microwave oven, dishes, etc.; quiet pool CONS: Overcrowded buses in morning when rope-dropping or arriving for park openings; large resort, so busses take significantly more time (5 stops); tiny quick-service eatery with very limited options; water scalding hot in morning; rooms serviced on 4th day, so planning needed; boats didn’t operate due to low water levels While I enjoyed my stay, this was a one and done choice for me. Having now stayed at two deluxe, four moderate, and one value resort (2x), I can honestly say that moderates are my favorites in terms of size, convenience, and want of a decent-sized and quick food service area. Very comfortable and well run resort. The paddock pool was our favorite with the smaller kid area and the bigger kid/adult water slide. From that pool the bus stop takes you to any of the parks. So we would choose a Paddock Suites room again with the location. We also enjoyed the Artist’s Pallet restaurant and market at the main area of the resort. It has a good selection of menu items as well as a handful of groceries and beverages to grab. We had a lot of trouble with our group of 27 all getting our bands and accounts linked together correctly and a lady in the front was very patient and sat down with us to reset and link everything. We also did the Mickey tie die activity which was very fun and a great souvenir. Overall we would definitely stay here again! It is within a moderate walking distance to Disney springs or you can take the bus (but it ends up taking longer). Read less
