The hotel

With this hotel offering two-room suites all round, it's tempting to stay in and relax for longer, but the complimentary hot breakfast buffet and made-to-order omelette station will help get you out and set up for the day! At the Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay Seaside, you are a couple of blocks from the beach and just two miles north of Downtown Monterey, with lots of attractions and activities along the Bay too, such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium or Steinbeck Museum. Alternatively, head out in the car for 20 minutes or so for a bit of hiking, winery action or spa treats. The hotel’s 2-hour evening reception with complimentary cocktails and snacks is a great way to kick-off your evening. The Silver Tide Bar & Grill is in the atrium too, so why not drop in afterwards for some local California cuisine?

One of the better Embassy Suites at which I have stayed. While much of it is standard stuff, the atrium is bigger than most (so not so noisy) and the breakfast layout really well done which makes it more enjoyable. All aspects of the hotel: check-in, check-out, and housekeeping were done well. Parking is ample and the location is great--very… Read more

All aspects of the hotel: check-in, check-out, and housekeeping were done well. Parking is ample and the location is great--very easy access to/from the freeway, the key sites in downtown Monterey, and good restaurants in the area. Definitely pay for a room for a bay view if the budget allows. Room heaters/AC a little on the loud side, but that's what you get when you don't have central HVAC. Read less

My husband and I stopped here on our way down the coast and had a fantastic stay. We were upgraded to a king suite and our room had a balcony facing the bay area. We even arrived at cocktail hour for complimentary drinks and received a credit for the restaurant which was much needed after a long day of driving. Staff was friendly and efficient, and the bed was SO COMFORTABLE. We walked down to Seaside Beach with our morning coffee but saw you could also rent bikes at the hotel, which we would have done had we known! It was a bit of a 'not pretty' walk to get there, but the beach itself was lovely. Would definitely stay here again. Read less

We were absolutely blown away by ALL and I mean all of the staff at this hotel. From the front desk, house keeping, breakfast staff, bartender, and evening staff at the restaurant. I hope management values their exceptional staff and sees just how terrific everyone is-everyone went above and beyond. The hotel itself was very nice, food both morning breakfast and restaurant were exceptional, very delicious. We will definitely stay at another Embassy Suites after this experience and would stay here again. Please don't hesitate to stay here, you won't regret it. It was 10 minutes away from all the tourist attractions. My 3 1/2 year old said her favorite part about our vacation was the hotel ;) I didn't catch everyone's name but Jaci at the front desk and Christian at the morning buffet, wonderful staff. Read less

Stayed here in July 2024 for a motorcycle race at Laguna Seca and definitely won’t be back. Firstly only 2/3 elevators were working for a completely sold out hotel with over 10 floors. We waited 5-10 mins each time to get an elevator with enough room for the two of us, and ended up using the stairs a few times hiking up to the eighth floor. We… Read more

We waited 5-10 mins each time to get an elevator with enough room for the two of us, and ended up using the stairs a few times hiking up to the eighth floor. We got to our room and found the living area table to be very tippy and falling apart, the condition of the chairs and desk were also very poor for a hotel that charged us almost $600 per night. Worst there was mold EVERYWHERE in the bathroom. (See attached photos) An absolute health hazard from a “luxury hotel.” You couldn’t pay me to stay here again. Read less
