Image of the Tripadvisor rating Jalen is the best!

Jalen took the best care of us. We rented a daybed by the pool and he was so attentive and kind. He came and checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. He made our day at the pool the best day. We honestly were so lucky to have met him. Thank you for everything Jalen!!! With love from Michigan ❤️

On arrival 6 days ago I was tacken aback at the sheer noise in the main entrance, I’ve honestly never been to a hotel soooooo loud. It turns out there was a corporate event which accounted for this but be aware they do quite a few. The entrance is very grand & check-in was easy & the staff member was very helpful & cheery. We were in 814 Chateau which is the main building. Room was very nice with a great view out front with views of the yachts & houses, the road didn’t cause us much disruption. Bathroom/shower was good & they supply really nice toiletries. Now some of my gripes about this supposed ‘5*’ is that they DON’T supply tea/coffee making facilities which to me is a basic, in Europe we even have them in 2* hotels. Also there is no fridge for customers to use, there’s just a fridge packed with incredibly expensive drink that they want you to buy along with drink & snacks on top of the cabinet. All of which are there for them to make as much money as possible. Another gripe of mine is the constant bag searches & asking to see room keys everytime you go/come from the pool, this did not make me feel like I was on holiday. The air conditioning in the room worked well but we had to manually fiddle with the slates on it as it was directly facing the bed & every time it kicked in it was like a small aircraft taking off! My main peeve was the sunbed situation. They jam soooooo many in and they are all pushed up against each other so you can’t move, there were loads free so they really should move some to the side so it’s a nicer experience for us. Also many of the umbrellas don’t work & we or the pool guys had to get twigs from the hedge at the side to stick in the holes to keep them up, and they really need MORE umbrellas. In this Miami sun it’s essential they invest in more! We ate 3 times in the hotel but it was sooooooo expensive. Breakfast was really nice but for 4 of us cost over $150. Miami is extremely expensive & the mandatory 20% service charge on everything plus tax plus tips make not a good experience & one that we don’t have in Europe. We tip if we get good service, end of! Also please be aware of the hotel tax which worked out at about $50 per night, all this added up can break the bank. Overall it’s a nice hotel as in its stunning inside but personally I’d rather have 5* facilities. Also I do wonder if the hotel takes notice of any reviews that are not 5* because they seem to post the same reply on all of them. Hopefully they will take note as it’s small things that could make a difference. Read less

Our stay at the Miami Fountainbleau was disappointing for several reasons. We were initially given a handicap room instead of the room we reserved and couldn't switch due to "full capacity". The room had mildew in the shower, a budget motel-like shower curtain, and a single sink with limited counter space. The exposed plumbing in the bathroom was rusted. The AC couldn't cool the room properly, making sleep uncomfortable. Service issues included being ignored by the beach daybed server on day one and day two having our pool daybed rented out despite early reservation, which took 30 plus minutes to resolve. A requests for a one hour late checkout was denied unless we paid a steep fee. The Fontainebleau Miami seems to cater more to younger club-goers verses offering a true five-star experience. This stay barely deserves one star. We will choose a more service-oriented brand for our next trip to Miami Beach. Read less
