Our stay at Hard Rock had some great aspects and some "not as great" aspects. To begin, the staff members at the Hard Rock are hard-working, kind and lovely people. Most every person who works there is kind and works hard to ensure the happiness of their guests. Likewise, we were happy with the pool areas and the food provided during our stay. The beach area is also a plus and allows everyone to enjoy the ocean without the nerves that may accompany strong currents and undertow. The daily activities were fun and Giggie (in the entertainment dept) was AMAZING and so fun! We loved interacting with her and her energy was magnetic. Having said all of this, Hard Rock Riviera Maya NEEDS to invest in the property. The room was just okay. We experienced issues with our air conditioning (at one point, requiring a 3am maintenance visit!) and didn't always have hot water. There are numerous leaks from ceilings and the rooftops need tending to. We had a roof terrace room that needed attention, as well. In addition, beware of the MANY Legendary reps who will constantly bombard you when you are trying to relax and enjoy your time away. They are everywhere and relentless in their pursuit to get you to "buy in!" Read less

Aside from the property being hit directly by a hurricane, the wedding we attended was perfect. The staff assigned to the wedding were wonderful and ensured we had a great experience.

The food at Frida and the new restaurant, Los Gallos, was great. The service from German (pronounced it Germain) was outstanding!! That restaurant and service was what I was hoping for the entire time. The rooms were fine. However, the sink and shower were very moldy. The thing I hated the most were the people in the lobby trying to get you to go listen to their sales pitch. It's like a time share thing. I will say that the lagoon was amazing for kids. The snorkeling was great. Not a fan of the stay overall. Read less

The rooms were average, with the added quirk of having hot tubs inside. It was fun to see all the wildlife on the property, and the rooms and bathrooms were kept very clean. However, the signage around the resort could use some improvement. There were many renovations going on, resulting in some strong smells. On a positive note, the pools were fun, and the kids' vibe area was really nice and much improved. We would have definitely taken advantage of it on a rainy day. One downside was the extremely loud music at all the events. The Michael Jackson show was just okay, but the neon show was a lot of fun with an exciting twist at the end. Overall, it was a good experience with room for some improvements. Read less
