Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa

Palm Springs, California

Virgin rating

The hotel

An oasis in the desert, you’ll find a huge range of things to keep you busy among the Hyatt Regency's 45-acres of perfectly manicured gardens. There’s seven different pools to cool off in, as well as a spa for a little more indulgence. If you’re a golfer, pick from two courses – and a pro can help iron out any kinks in your swing. Travelling with young ones? There are some great kids activities going on, as well as a family pool with a water slide. Maybe something more tranquil? The adults-only pool may be more your style – and maybe a cocktail by the pool at sunset followed by a tender steak.

It's been a few years since we've been to the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells, and I must say it looks fantastic. The hotel has been remodelled. The rooms are all updated and spacious. We stayed in a Standard King room with Pool view, but you would think this was a jr. suite. The sleeping earea was separated from the "living" area by a partition. There was a massive 60" TV in the room. The bathroom was huge with an amazing shower and separate bathtub. The water pressure was excellent. The AC in the room alwas kept the room cool. The staff was always courteous, helpful and very friendly. The bed was super comfortable. I was not a fan of the pillows, which were more soft and fluffy, but that's just because I prefer firm pillows. Doesn't matter whether you get Pool or garden/vista view....they are all beautiful! The resort has lost of pools to choose from for family or adults. For adults who want to relax without kids around, we have the oasis pool. There is also the hy Tide pool and play area for children, as well as a lazy river and 2 waterslides for all ages. Please note that there is a 4% surcharge on all food/beverage purchases. The bill states this is not a gratuity charge, but rather a surcharge to help offset the minimum wage increase in CA. This is the first time we've seen this type of charge. As far as the prices for food at the restaurants or bar/lounge area. You may think it's a bit pricey, but we ate both on site and at restaurants off-site with comparable menu items (We ate at Babes steakhouse and at Las Cansuelas Terraza in Palm Springs), and honestly, we paid about the same. So the pricing seems to be competitive. Drinks are obviously priced higher at the resort than at places off site. There are other dining options at the River, which is a 5 minute drive from the resort. Places like Cheesecake Factory and so on. You could also go across the way to Rennaissance or across the highway to the new Tommy Bahama resort for additional dining. Overall we had a wonderful stay and we would definitely be staying here in the future. Read less

Tons of amenities to enjoy! Pool and water park were top notch, and the tennis, pickleball, and gym were all well maintained. Food options were good—could use better dinner items but new restaurant should help that. Highly recommend to those who want to go to the desert but don’t want to deal with Airbnb’s anymore and just want quality, easy… Read more

Had a great few days in Palm Springs, we chose the wrong time visiting in the summer heat but that does not stop any activities but certain things like the tour busses do not run at the time we were there

The room has excellent view of golf court, with nice bed, clean room, and good pool facility, we had a good time there.

Horrible customer service at desk and valet. Lazy river was filthy and never cleaned. Dirt was in your suits. Bathroom was not cleaned. Phone service was Automated. Slide ripped the skin off elbows.
