The hotel

The All Inclusive Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall offers a huge range of room options, all with gorgeous views of the surrounding tropical gardens or the ocean. You can even choose a room with direct pool access or upgrade to Club Level for special privileges. Tucked between the mountains and the sea, it’s hailed as a paradise of rest, relaxation and recreation and rightly so! Prepare yourself for 'Service from the Heart!' — a genuine warm Jamaican welcome and service with a smile. For something a little special, head to the spa for a relaxing massage or body wrap. Whilst you do, the kids can play with other youngsters at their very own club, building sandcastles or getting stuck into some arts and crafts. With regards to restaurants, you’ll find plenty on your doorstep — at the Ziva, there’s a whole range of world cuisines to choose from! Visit Italy one night, and Asia when the mood takes you. We doubt very much you’ll be homesick but if you are, head to Union Jack’z — an English tavern that not only serves pub favourites but also features live music too. Alternatively, sip on cocktails on the rooftop at the Moroccan-inspired Fez.

Despite it being the end of August we booked to go to Jamaica and stayed at the Hyatt. It was close to the airport and a beautiful hotel. Ann Marie and Terryann checked us in efficiently and made sure all our rooms were together as we were travelling with family. This included my elderly parents. They made sure we were close to a lift as my dad had difficulty walking. Dezreen was so friendly and also came across to welcome us. Rooms were lovely and so was the bathroom. The pool and pool bar were brilliant. There was entertainment around the pool. Daniel and Carmella were so lovely and great at getting everyone involved. Both deserve a big shout out as they were so friendly and warm. Every morning we did the yoga before breakfast which was on the pier and the most beautiful setting, I would highly recommend this. Although it would rain, it wasn’t all day and only for a short while. The beach was also lovely. Food was good and great choice. Isrial the chef was brilliant and so friendly. The one down side we found about all the restaurants, was that the service and friendliness seemed to only be good if you tipped. You could really tell the difference. This was the first hotel we’ve come across this where we felt the waiting staff were not as friendly until you tipped. I have no problem with tipping and think it is important to do so, but would like to following receiving great service and not so that I will be given great service because I tipped. It was very much expected. All other area in the hotel were not like this. This did let the hotel down but because everything else was so good I would still highly recommend this hotel and would go back. Read less

We had the wedding of our dreams at the resort with over 30 people in attendance. Not one person complained about staff, food, or amenities. The worst all inclusive I have ever been to. The food was awful, the only decent meal was at the Italian restaurant. Only a handful of employees were attentive and helpful and cheery and nice, the rest waited for a tip. Save your money and go somewhere else. I was very disappointed and will never return to Jamaica.

First time in Jamaica and was scheduled to go to another resort for a few days, so we decided to go to this hotel a day earlier because it was Hyatt also. We went to Zilara first, thinking it was the correct resort, it was not, however Zilara's vibe was nice. It was adults only and it felt that way and it looked that way. Grown and sexy vibe. Customer service on point, concierge inviting, bell people attentive, this was all in 10 minutes of being at the property. We then found out we were at the incorrect property and had to go too the other one, which is fine, they share the same property. Now my expectations were high after being at Zilara 10 minutes. Oh what a disappointment. The wait to get checked in, inattentiveness, staff who appeared we were a bother. Just annoying. Activities, non-existent because they cancelled things without notice. No updated information any where, we had to ask where everything was because there was no directory, signage nothing. Aimless walking. Our first night in Jamaica at this resort was a bust. Halls smelled awful after a quick rain, I guess there was flooding. The best part in regards to food was the breakfast buffet T Choicez, other than that food was subpart. My husband described it as cafeteria food. Disappointing. Rum punch flowed everywhere all the time, Wata(name of the water bottle) readily available. We were bored and couldn't wait to get to the next resort, which was also a bust. SMH Read less
