Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Magenta, great service by Kisna and Sooko. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing , food was also upto the mark. Personally I would prefer more lighting although I understand the soft ambient lighting that were intended for.

We went to Mauritius to relax and chose La Pirogue in Flic en Flac. We felt at home from the first minute we arrived. Even though it is a larger hotel, the service was always first class and personal. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We also had the pleasure of meeting Vikram, the sous chef, during a cooking lesson. He took a lot of time with us and patiently explained each step of the three dishes. For our daughter, who is also a chef, this insight into the local cuisine was a great opportunity to broaden her professional horizons. Cooking together was an absolute highlight of our trip and a culinary high point. Vikram also took the time on our last day to cook a surprise breakfast for us. We will always have fond memories of La Pirogue, the beach, the good food, the friendly staff and especially Vikram. It will probably not be our last stay at La Pirogue. Read less

Having travelled a lot, this was our first time to Mauritius and we were glad we picked La Pirogue for all the reasons mentioned by others. We found the atmosphere to be very chilled yet never too laidback or complacent. Lobin is the man to look out for - he has eyes in the back of his head and will ensure that you are given the best possible service. All the staff are super polite but he leads by example. The food in the main buffet was always super tasty and there's a huge choice for everyone. We were full board so paid for our drinks, the prices of the drinks are more in line with British prices and it was surprising to see that even guests on All Inclusive had to pay an additional amount for some cocktails etc. The staff were happy to give me fresh milk so I could make tea in my room (powdered milk is provided as well as coffee). The rooms were always cleaned to a high standard and the bathroom was spacious with both bath and shower. We took a few outings with Travelhub to see the island and how it differed depending on which side of the island you were on, well worth doing. We loved the snorkelling and choice of outside activities. A totally relaxing hotel on a beautiful part of the island. Read less
