Great hotel and location!

The location was perfect and convenient for getting around New Orleans easily whether walking or needing a cab. The hotel was charming and clean; definitely recommended getting a room with a balcony to the courtyard/pool. The hotel was charming and clean; definitely recommended getting a room with a balcony to the courtyard/pool. He definitely elevated the experience. We also loved having PJs coffee and happy hour oysters at Desire right downstairs!

We arrived on November 1 with a group of guys on a fishing trip and had a reservation for two rooms, each with two queen beds. We were given two king rooms instead. When I explained our need for separate beds they said they had no more queen rooms left but would put a roll away bed in each room. I asked if there wasn’t a better option and asked to speak with a manager. After a long wait, a manager asked what I needed so I explained our situation and she asked me to wait. When she returned she said they had no other rooms available, but offered a $100 per room refund back on the card on file. With no other choice I accepted that.
We had also paid extra for rooms with access to the executive lounge, but when we went to the lounge it was closed and a hotel staff explained that the lounge had closed during Covid and never reopened.
When we checked out, the invoice had charges for parking but nothing about a $100 credit per room. The room had been prepaid so there was no room charge. When I questioned this, they checked with the manager that had promised the credit and she said it had already gone back on my card. Later when I had an opportunity to review my credit card balance, there was no credit for the $100 per room as promised.
When I called the hotel to get this corrected, I was told that because the room had been prepaid through a third party I would have to go back to the third party for a refund. I asked why I had been told differently at the hotel and they couldn’t explain that. I then asked that they apply the $100 per room credit against the parking fee and they refused.
I definitely will not return to a Royal Sonesta hotel!

Greeted by the Doorman, you step through the doors from the noise and bustle of Bourbon Street and it is WOW every-time, an oasis of tranquility. The hotel is so clean and inviting with marble floors and the decor to match. A swimming pool on the third floor open to the sky, the most photogenic and stunning courtyard on the ground floor, hotel access to restaurants and le booze and step out into the chaos that is the street. Need to have break, back into hotel. Rinse and Repeat.
Super comfy bed and a goodnight sleep. Room did not over look the street so might be a key point on the goodnight sleep. Hotel has a quiet policy, other hotels should learn from this and despite it being party central other guests on our floor at least adhered to the policy.
Did not use any facilities other than the pool bar, LeBooze and Desire. Very happy we chose to stay at this hotel for our first experience of New Orleans and more importantly Bourbon Street.

The service was great! Joe was very friendly and helpful. He made sure we had an enjoyable visit. I could not have asked for better service. The front desk was also very helpful. The room was nice and clean with plenty of towels and wash cloths.
