I stayed at this resort for a conference. And while I appreciate being there for a conference is a slightly difference experience, I can genuinely say this resort/hotel is not worth the price. The rooms are quite tired, and could use a complete revamp. The sound between rooms is as if there is no wall, we had to change rooms an hour after arriving because I could hear the child next door screaming - I assume the rooms with adjoining doors are a big problem for this. While the beds were clean, the beds weren't made up very well. A colleague in another room had mouldy food in one of the wicker baskets, and our first room had peeling paint on the ceiling. The sheer price of the food was extortionate, whether in the shop onsite, or in the restaurant. To be fair to the restaurant, the food was really excellent when we had one dinner there, but it would be incredibly expensive to eat there everynight. The hotel is not located near anything else, so you really need a car or to take an Uber to do anything else - eat, sightsee, shop etc. The pool is ok, but a bit sad and this resort definitely seems to be a place people go with children and just hang out around the pool. The beach is public, and a bit sad, and I certainly would not recommend swimming in the inlet water, it seems incredibly stagnant. There are no lifts to the rooms on the second floor, so be prepared if you have a lot of luggage. Having seen my colleagues room, there is also a big difference in what room you get - both rooms we had (the first one for an hour, then the one we changed to) had carpets, and a balcony. My colleague had a ground floor outside door room, hers was all tiled and had no view as the door to her room was also the door to her terrace. If you do stay, I would recommend make sure you have a good terrace or a balcony. Also, our second room looked out at the padel tennis courts and the motorway, so be aware you can absolutely hear the traffic. Overall, I would be furious if I had pay for this stay, rather than my company, so I wanted to give an honest review. Read less

I’ll start by I don’t usually write reviews. This is not my first time at the property and have been here over 4 times the last 10-12 years. It used to be my go to spot when coming to San Diego. I’ll start by I don’t usually write reviews. This is not my first time at the property and have been here over 4 times the last 10-12 years. It used to be my go to spot when coming to San Diego. I hadn’t been here since Covid and things has gone down, like under new management gone down. The exterior looks horrible and not maintained especially at the side buildings with the larger “upgraded “ rooms. The AC is musty and dated and honestly I wanted to take my family and leave. Luckily we were just staying for one night and decided to stay. I will say this is my first time staying in the side upgrade rooms Miramar area, so the main building where I used to stay may be better. I ended up in the room as an upgrade on my credit card but wondering if I should have stayed in my original room I booked in the main building. All this to say, I’ll won’t be coming back here. I wrote this review because I was going back and forth researching hotels and reading reviews and I wanted to add a review to help others doing their research. Unfortunately, for the price of the room, resort fees, and parking I don’t feel like it worth it. Positive note. The staff was really nice and the pool area was decent for what it is worth and it it wasn’t from the smell from the AC it would have been ok. We are leaving early to go to the airport and hang in the lounge for somewhere more comfortable 😂 Read less

We spent four wonderful nights at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort celebrating a special birthday. Our Studio King room was recently renovated. It was the largest room we've ever seen in a hotel that was not a suite. It had a huge flat screen TV and a full living room area with seating for 10 people. The bedding was heavenly. Our room was cleaned every day without the need for request, but we would have requested regardless in support of union hotel workers. The grounds are vast and exquisite. We walked the wide sidewalk around the cove every morning. The pool area is very large and there were always available towels and lounge chairs even though the hotel was fully booked. We rented 2 cabanas and a daybed and lunched around the pool. There are many activities for families with children The Resort offered ping pong and foose ball poolside, and cornhole in many locations. The fitness center is fabulous. The resort has tennis courts and 8 pickleball courts. There is live music every night; smores on the beach and fire pits and heaters everywhere. Finally- the food was fantastic. We had Mission Joe's coffee and croissants, muffins, fruit and healthy yogurts and juices every morning. There is a poolside restaurant and a bar restaurant with outdoor seating that has a happy hour every afternoon. Don't miss the Bavarian Pretzel Fondue. The Covewood Restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We had dinner for 8 in a romantic setting by a gorgeous fireplace. It was one of the best meals we ever had. All the staff is friendly and helpful Special thank you to Katie Blackburn, the extraordinary concierge who helped us choreograph every step of the fantastic four day birthday weekend. Read less
