The hotel

Set against the majestic Ko’olau Mountains and overlooking Waikiki Beach, this Sheraton hotel is a real slice of heaven. With sun, sea and sand on your doorstep, indulge in water sports, land sports, wining and dining or simply stake your place in the shade and relax. There are two incredible oceanfront pools: an infinity pool for the adults, a very serene place, or family-friendly Helumoa Pool where the kids can splash to their hearts content. If a spot of pampering appeals, head to Spa Khakara for a couples massage or an individual beauty treatment. Hungry? Kai Market serves farm-to-table fare that showcases the flavours of Hawaii perfectly. It also enjoys amazing views of Diamond Head and the Pacific – a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds! Alternatively, Rum Fire is the sensuous new spot for tapas and cocktails – boasting the country’s largest selection of vintage rum and playing live island melodies each evening. The Edge of Waikiki lives up to its name – set on the beach, it’s the perfect spot to admire the sunset over a tropical thirst quencher.

Jingsi was our housekeeper and she was amazing. She is very sweet and accommodating. A great smiling face to greet us everyday we were there. The bellmen were great and very attentive. They give advice on where to go for different activities.

Everyone we came into contact with exuded the Aloha spirit and it was clear that they wanted us to have a fabulous holiday. The room was clean and updated. We had an oceanfront room and the bonus was that you could hear the very talented musicians that they have playing daily which really added to the atmosphere. A perfect way to have a drink on your lanai of an afternoon watching the waves and the sun go down. We have only been back 2 days and I’m already planning our trip for next year. You have earnt our future patronage Sheraton for your exemplary service and amenities. Mahalo! Read less

They smelled awful, and I felt so grossed out trying to fall asleep. I understand hotels are opting for unscented detergent, but I’d honestly prefer the scent of laundry detergent over the smell of old rag or someone's lingering head smell. Every pillowcase had the same unpleasant smell as if the detergent just wasn't strong enough to mask it. The toilet also had a terrible odor, as if someone had just taken a dump moments before (but that odor never went away). And while it had a bidet feature, it was mostly just loud and annoying, whirring every time I walked by, which even disrupted my baby’s sleep. Read less

When we checked in, our card was getting declined because of high cost. Our bank was closed so we couldn’t call and fix it. Fortunately, the two girls working at the counter (I forget their names but one was a trainee, it was 11/3) were super patient and worked with us to make it work. Fortunately, the two girls working at the counter (I forget their names but one was a trainee, it was 11/3) were super patient and worked with us to make it work. Roger was a fantastic housekeeper and kept our room in great shape every day. He greeted us with a smile every morning when we saw him in the hall, and when we came back, our room was spotless. My one complaint is the room key wrist bands. They are impossible to get on! If Sheraton had to change anything about this resort, it would be the style of wristband. You have to push and fight to get it on. Once on, it stays on pretty well, but the initial donning of the band is a huge pain. Thank you to the Sheraton staff who made our experience as awesome as it was. Read less
