Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites

Stayed at the Sunset Vistas from 7/18-7/21, total of 3 nights. Stayed in 1 room with family (total of 4 people). Total price was over $1800. This price was ridiculous. Over $300 per night per couple. NO maid service. No clean towels. No garbage emptied. 2nd bedroom had full size bed, no queen. TV in 2nd bedroom was 19". No "guide" on TV remotes, took forever to find a channel. Shower water pressure was non-existent. Room was in much need of upgrade. Pool was overcrowded with kids screaming and splashing. Entire premises needed upgrade. Would not recommend to anyone. FROM A LOCAL RESIDENT DONT RENT THIS UNIT! 609S. This unit was rented through airbnb. They have been very nice to speak with about all the issues. The owner of this particular unit I was informed, was Sandcastle Realty. They did not seem really interested in customer satisfaction. The employees that came out to try to help were all very nice. POSITIVES The location is beautiful. Many things to do in the area. Excellent restaurants to try and beach is stunning. NEGATIVES This unit is in great need of repair. From the many broken items (Dryer, doors, door knobs, vertical blinds, dresser drawer & knobs, freezer is freezing over, light under microwave, outlet on patio, disgusting stains on living room furniture). I was there for my husband's 60th birthday. Spending my time on the phone or emailing or back in the room with maintenance who could not really do much. I was told unit is up for remodel during low season when rentals are low. I do not like writing bad reviews. That being said, the owners of this unit should have done something to oversee the status of the poor condition this unit was in. * Give both codes to the renter. Not just wi-fi for sunset vistas. They also need code for Sunset TV. You cannot use the TV or hook anything up to it without it. *FIX THE DRYER: I had to go offsite to wash & dry clothes. *Washer works, but usless without dryer. I had to go off-site to wash and dry clothes. *Either replace the sofa and loveseat (stains disgusting) or have them cleaned. We covered them to sit on them. They were horrible either way. Worn out. * Master bed is so hard. Either replace it or at least put a mattress topper on it. * The mattress also needs a full enclosed mattress cover. This Helps prevent bed-bugs. The other rooms here have them. *Buy a cheap vacuum: so you can vacuum sand off carpet. *Talk to your cleaning service. They are not doing a very good job. * Unit was not very clean. * Mold under sinks and in kitchen. * Every room dusty. Floors were filthy. The fans and vents were corroded with dust & dirt. * Dirty Bathroom I have been staying at Sunset Vistas since they originally opened. I have never been in such a poorly maintained unit. Read less

We just returned from a week at Sunset Vistas. This was our 2nd year staying here in a gulf view suite. I called and asked to stay in the same unit as last and to have a travel crib placed in the room. At checkin- given a room on the south side (not what I requested) and no travel crib. The furniture was filthy, worn and stained. Broken tile, broken fixtures and cabinets falling apart. We did our best to look beyond the physical condition of the room but after doing laundry in the in unit machines and having black streaks and some items with small tears- I was livid. 3 out of the 5 elevators were out of service and the remaining 2 were excessively hot and smelled- flooring in one was noticeably in need of repair. The pool is large but not once did we see anyone skimming the pool ( prior year the pool was serviced almost daily before opening) and the water had a continuous mix of bugs, debris, and sunscreen floating on the surface by the stairs. We could scratch the “film” off the tile pool surround at the water line with our fingers. Very disappointed this time around and will not be returning to this “resort”. Read less
