The hotel

Where is it

The hotel's excellent Jumeirah Beach location means that plenty of water sports are on offer including kayaking and water-skiing. Transfer time from Dubai International Airport: 30 minutes.

All rooms have floor to ceiling windows offering views of the Arabian Gulf and the majestic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, air-conditioning, interactive HD LCD TV, WiFi access, tea/coffee-making facilities, safe, mini-bar*, bathroom amenities, iron and ironing board, separate walk-in shower and bath, and hairdryer. 

Ocean Deluxe Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years).

Half Board option: includes buffet breakfast at your property, plus a choice of lunch or dinner which is available on a dine-around basis at a selection of over 40 restaurants within the Jumeirah resorts: Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, Jumeirah Emirates Towers and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Transport is not included.

Ocean Deluxe Balcony Rooms are the same as Ocean Deluxe Rooms, but with the addition of a balcony, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years).

Ocean Family Deluxe Rooms have 1 king-size bed, plus two fold out beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years).

Ocean Club Rooms have 1 king-size bed or 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years).

One-Bedroom Ocean Suites include club benefits, and feature a separate bedroom with 1 king-size bed and living room with sea views, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years).

Two-Bedroom Deluxe Suites include club benefits, and feature a separate living room, and 2 bedrooms with 1 king-size bed and 2 twin beds. This suite can sleep 5 adults, or 4 adults and 2 children (under 12 years).

Family Garden Suites include club benefits, and are located on the ground floor with direct access to the outdoor pool, featuring 1 king-size bed and a sofa bed, sleeping maximum 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years).

Awful hotel. Don't be fooled this hotel isn't the JBH of old. This hotel has declined considerably, poor service, dated room and awful club access facility. I understand the hotel is old but there is no excuse for a poor service. DON'T STAY HERE!!!! I have stayed in better 3 star accommodation.

The manager, JoJee, is exceptional, and the quality of our stays has only improved over time. This past visit, which lasted five weeks, felt like a home away from home. In particular, I want to commend the housekeeping staff. Emon and Meherab, who took care of our room, were the best we have ever encountered. They were incredibly kind and polite, and they ensured our room was immaculate every single day. They are true assets to the Jumeirah group, and I hope management recognizes their outstanding service and supports them accordingly. Read less

Disappointing. Myself and my husband had a 9 night stay at JBH. We last stayed here 10 years ago and it has changed for the worse. Don't think we will stay again. We arrived early in the morning knowing our room wouldn't be ready until 3 pm. We went off to look around and sit by the pool waiting for a WhatsApp message to inform our room was ready but at 2.45 pm went to see the check-in ourselves as didn't hear anything. Sat a while and then shown to our room. This was disappointing as it was tired and the furnishings were shabby. This was very disappointing as I was under the impression the hotel had undergone a refurbishment. On the first evening I had to contact the e-Butler via WhatsApp as the shower was constantly on steaming hot and would not regulate. The team did come and fix the shower but I then had to change the time for our dinner reservation as we were then running late. I also had to report the TV remote wasn’t working. This went on for two days and was finally fixed. The housekeeping service was excellent. The beach team and life guards at the beach were excellent and very hard working and very pleasant and helpful. I would like to especially give a shout out to Sopon and Towhide even though all the team were very hard working and very pleasant. They ensured clean towels and complimentary water were available all day. You simply ring for service and they are there really swiftly. Loved the complimentary lollies at around 1 pm. The golf buggy team do an excellent job. The breakfast buffet team in Kitchen Connection were very efficient and pleasant. All the staff behind the various food stations i.e. egg and fruit were very efficient and pleasant. Great choice for breakfast and evening meal. The earlier you go the less busier it is. The evening meal choices in Kitchen Connection were very good. Dhow and Anchor and Fika were disappointing compared with the restaurants in the other hotels. Dhow and Anchor was good if u want Guinness but we didn't enjoy the only meal we had in there. Fika was okay apart from disappointing desserts the service could do with tweaking. We had only just started to look at the menu but kept getting asked had we chosen even when I asked for longer and was still obviously looking to be asked again. Also people walk through from the gym and the atmosphere wasn't as good as The Hide or Trattoria. The Hide and Trattoria are excellent. We ate at The Hide 3 times and Trattoria twice. Didn't want to risk any more bad experiences so didn't try other restaurants that were available. We didn't try Bastion due to poor reviews. I think we will try a different hotel next time mainly due to the room standard. It was a good job we had the HB option as the restaurants we visited outside of JBH were much better. The good thing is that you are located on Jumeirah beach so can visit the other hotels and also the Souk shopping mall which is interesting to walk around.
