We just returned from an amazing 10-day, 9-night stay at the Westin Maldives and it was nothing short of perfect! My wife and I came with our baby twins of 7 months old and we had one of the most relaxing vacation of our time. From the moment we arrived, the service exceeded every positive expectation. The staff were incredibly attentive, gentle, and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was flawless, always ready to assist with a smile. The arrival experience was very "White Lotus"-y, and the arrival lounge was a perfect experience for checking in. The resort is a Japanese-style, modern resort set on a tiny, paradisiacal island in the Baa Atoll, 30 minutes from Male Airport by seaplane. Nothing is missing here: picture white sand beaches, crystal-clear warm waters, vibrant coral reefs, and tropical fish—sharks and turtles included! Snorkeling right off the reef was like stepping into an aquarium - no need for a snorkeling-dedicated excursion. The island welcomes also Mantas during Manta season in June-September. Our room was very spacious, impeccably tidy, and came with its own private pool and beach access. Halfway through our stay, we had the privilege of spending a few nights in a Heavenly Water Villa, where we enjoyed breathtaking sunsets and direct access to the coral reef. The experience was simply magical—everything was thoughtfully designed and luxurious. The food was another highlight, very important to consider as there is nothing else in the island apart from the Resort. There are three restaurants: Island Kitchen (offering also a very extensive Breakfast buffet in the morning), Hawkers (perfect for your lunch on the beach, serving Asian classics like Pad Thai, Nasi Goreng and more) and The Pearl (High-end Japanese restaurant to be booked in advanced). Every meal at each restaurant was a culinary delight! We highly recommend trying all the dining options—every one is a must. If possible, opt for a full board package; it’s well worth it for the variety and quality. Other services we did not try during our stay: Cooking classes, Painting classes, Private Photoshoot service, a Sport Center offering snorkelling and diving excursions, PADI certifications, an overwater Spa. To wrap it up, we cannot recommend the Westin Maldives enough. It’s the perfect escape for anyone looking for tranquility, beauty, and impeccable service. We’ll cherish these memories forever and hope to return soon! Read less

The Westin is our 4th resort in the Maldives and it is definitely the best. I travelled with my wife and two kids (9 and 6 year old) and we spent 8 nights at the Westin. A good house reef and kids club is the most important criteria for us, and the Westin exceeded our expectations. Our family beach villa was spacious and clean, we used the nespresso machine and the juicer everyday. We loved the layout of the bathroom and the pool to cool down. The house reef runs around the island and is teaming with large variety of fish. We saw turtles, black tip sharks, nurse sharks, eagle rays, sting rays, napoleons, and moray eels just by snorkelling outside of our villa. We saw dolphins swimming by the island kitchen 3 times during our stay. Pavel and Jinan at the dive centre were really good and we were lucky enough to go to Hanifaru Bay and saw 40+ mantas. We also did snorkelling at a nearby reef and the brother island. The food was delicious and Hussain at Hawker and Aiman at Island Kitchen looked after us with a nice smile every day. We appreciated Hussain’s advice and knowledge about the ocean. Taysa at the Beach Bar remembered our favorite drinks for the whole family. I would like to send special thanks to Mishka at the kids club. My son loved going to kids club to play with Mishka so much that he waited outside the kids club 5 minutes before opening every day! Both my kids had some incidents and the doctor and nurse attended to them immediately and provided medicine. We had been really grateful for the care the kids received from the clinic and all the staff. Laurent and his team made our family felt so welcomed and we were especially impressed by the level of engagement with the guests and the personal touch received. We absolutely loved the Westin and cannot wait for our next visit. Read less

This has quite simply been our best trip ever to the Maldives. For purposes of context we have been traveling annually to the maldives for over 15 years and some the resorts we have visited are soneva fushi, JW Marriott, St Regis, W maldives , Four seasons etc. The Westin has given us the best experience in all these years for one outstanding reason ….. its people. The team lead by Laurent are motivated and care for their guests from a heartfelt space. They were ever present and engaging with guests to make sure there was constant interaction so they could find ways to improve holidays and their guests could back with special memories. I was told “ we don’t have individual butlers per room as our philosophy is that we are all butlers at your service “ I could see that playing out every day. We were a family of 5 traveling with my special needs daughter and the entire Westin team ensured that we faced no mobility issues building ramps and being helped out wherever required. Chef Chetan chefs in with us daily and prepared special meals even off menu when wanted something different. The Nasi Goreng was the best we’ve had including Indonesia Rohit who heads guests experiences also checked daily at breakfast to ensure we were well taken care of. We are bonvoy titanium members and were upgraded but somehow I feel the team went the extra mile for reasons beyond that…… serving guests is in their dna. Our hotel selection is always based on the house ref and the wearing did not disappoint with vibrant reef and snorkeled daily with sharks and a plethora of wonderful fish and the occasional turtle. My family and wait to be back and some point over the next few years. Read less

We had a wonderful time at the Westin. I travelled with my husband and 3 kids (10, 7 and 5) and we stayed for 9 nights in a two bedroom villa with pool which was right next door to the main restaurant area and pool. The villa was immaculate - spacious and beautiful decor and really comfortable beds. We loved the Nespresso machine and the orange juice maker. The island is gorgeous and not very big which we really liked as it meant we weren’t waiting for buggies in the same way as you would with a larger resort. The snorkelling was amazing (definitely bring beach shoes as parts of the island are quite rocky) and we very much enjoyed a couple of water sport activities. One of the highlights for me of the Westin was the kids club. The wonderful Mishka kept our kids entertained for hours every day with a wide variety of activities from coconut painting to bracelet making to nature trails and games on the beach. She was so patient with the kids and always engaged with them on how they’d like to spend their time which meant they could not wait to get to the kids club and my husband and I were able to relax by the beach or at the villa. My son had an allergic reaction a few days before we left and Mishka was super helpful and very caring in making sure he was ok and the doctor on site was able to reassure us and give us medicine. I’m not good with names but there was a lovely lady who worked at the beach bar which was a lovely place to hang out who was always there with a smile and a fab cocktail. The staff at all three restaurants were very friendly and efficient and Chef Singh deserves a special shout out for his warmth and his dedication to making sure that we were all happy and well fed, especially my fussy eater kids. Likewise the two chefs who worked on the fruit and pancakes station - they welcomed us with a smile every morning and were so kind to the kids. The buffet at Halloween was nothing short of remarkable - fantastic food and so beautifully presented. We also loved the art lessons from Shameen - make sure you take the time to book a lesson with him. He is a genius! I also very much appreciated the care and attention from hotel manager Laurent who checked in with us daily to make sure everything was great (and also gave me permission not to do any work!). All in all a fantastic holiday and we look forward to a return visit! Read less
