The homemade fettuccine stood out immediately, with its perfect al dente texture. Freshly made pasta can sometimes be a gamble in terms of consistency, but Kalamata's nailed it. The fettuccine was light yet hearty, offering a satisfying bite without being too heavy. The chipotle pesto was a real highlight—vibrantly green, with the smoky depth of chipotle adding just the right level of heat and earthiness. It wasn’t overwhelming; instead, it complemented the dish in a way that made each bite more interesting than the last. The pesto's slight spiciness melded beautifully with the mild, slightly sweet flavor of the grilled zucchini. The zucchini itself was tender but retained a pleasant bite, its char adding a layer of complexity that brought the whole dish together. To elevate the flavors further, the addition of New Mexico green chile provided a regional touch that couldn’t have been more fitting. The green chile was subtly incorporated into the dish—offering a mild heat and a slight tang that made it more than just a garnish. It balanced out the richness of the pesto and pasta while paying homage to New Mexico’s iconic culinary heritage. Flavor Balance & Overall Experience The combination of fresh pasta, chipotle pesto, grilled vegetables, and green chile created a dish that was both comforting and exciting. Each element played off the others in the perfect proportions—there was just enough smokiness from the chipotle, enough freshness from the zucchini, and enough heat from the chile to keep the palate intrigued without overwhelming it. Kalamata's doesn’t just serve a meal; it tells a story of local ingredients and thoughtful preparation. The dish was the perfect representation of the restaurant’s ability to blend Mediterranean influences with New Mexican flavors, offering something unique to the area. Conclusion Kalamata's in Silver City is a gem that shouldn’t be overlooked. The homemade fettuccine with chipotle pesto, grilled zucchini, and green chile is a standout dish that showcases the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients and bold flavors. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this dish is a must-try. With its stellar food, friendly service, and cozy ambiance, Kalamata's is a perfect destination for anyone looking to explore the diverse culinary offerings of Silver City. Read less

In the grand scheme it’s little things but it does make a difference. Furniture in the rooms are scratched/chipped, we stayed in the Castaway building and the exterior of the building needed to be pressure washed, painted, tiles replaced, signage replaced, it was in extremely bad shape… they used to play music in the lobby areas but it was broken I guess? Hot tub was closed for unscheduled maintenance the whole stay. I love Cabana Bay & I truly believe it’s the best value hotel in Orlando, please management just take care of it. Read less

We gratefully stayed at the adventura hotel but we used the pool hopping feature and went to the cabana bay pool. Me and my friend and my partner sat right across from the outside pool bar and grill and observed a man dressed not in pool clothes walking back in forth stealthily behind plants taking pictures of something. This occurred 3 times that we witnessed we took a photo of him just in case it was something malicious. Then the man went back inside and we walked the areas he walked and saw what he was taking pictures of. There was a young girl in a swim suit and shorts sunbathing and just a few feet from the plant. I approached the family and asked if she knew the man. She said she did not. We then went with the family up to the front desk and explained the situation (the family did not speak english we used google translate.) It took more than 20 minutes for them to locate a spanish speaking team member. The manager came over she was quite nice and understanding i wish i remembered her name but it started with a B and her name tag said she was from brazil. Thank you for your sympathy. The spanish team member was Santi and he was not only sympathetic but he made sure to communicate everything being said to the family which kept them in the loop. Thank you Santi you rock. It took more than 40 minutes for security to get there. That is ridiculous because the man was staring at the young girl in the lobby the whole time watching her. Made her have a panic attack and the girls father took his shirt off to cover her from his gaze. The security officer not only dragged his feet to get there but had 0 sympathy. “Due to florida law this is public property and it looks like he’s checking out anyways so you can file a report with the orlando police if you really want” Where is your sympathy, where is your remorse. I then asked him if he could ban him or remove him and he said he can’t prove he was taking pictures. So i offered to confront the man and the Security guard (Corwynn) suggested against that and said he would have to file a report against ME for “causing a scene”…..So i did what any person with a heart would do and i went over and confronted the man before i could even say anything the man who took the pictures goes “i was just on a phone call” obviously basically admitting to it. I then called him a predator. The security guard sure had pep in his step when he ran after me. He asked me for my information and i told him he wouldn’t get it. I asked Corwynn if he would like to walk me out himself and he said nothing. I then thanked the staff that was helpful and hugged the girls family. They thanked us profusely and we all cried together lol. MAIN POINT OF THIS Cabana Bay does not protect your kids from PREDATORS! REAL PREDATORS. Do better. Be better. If you see something SAY SOMETHING and train Officer Corwynn on how to treat real humans. Read less
