The hotel

Picture a white sand beach surrounded by acres of tropical grounds, with water sports galore and five different pools to cool off in. This is the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Amble over to the huge beachfront Super Pool or if you have kids in tow perhaps the family activity pool will tempt you. We are here now and we love it. There is a strike going on outside the hotel but not inside the spacious grounds. Our checkin was great. Normal line for a large place. Got to our rooms really quickly with friendly front desk and bell men. Rooms were really clean and well stocked with supplies. They told us they were stocking the rooms so we would have everything we need. There are a lot of restaurants open here at the resort. More than any other hotel in Waikiki. Pools were clean and we enjoyed a quiet evening swim. We found everyone around here so helpful. I can't even imagine that these employees aren't the normal employees. Everyone is so well trained and you can tell that they are trying their best to please us. Our bell man told us the strikers get paid a lot of money and that's why many have stayed employed here for over 20 years and that is why they want to come back to work but can't because the union wants to go on strike. We stayed away from the noisy bad actors out there and I am sure they are unhappy because the place is being run so well without them. Hope they can settle soon. I can't really say anything bad about the place except for the commotion on the outside of the hotel. We are going out shopping today and doing a trip around beautiful Oahu. The hotel has an Enterprise desk with cars right here to jump into. I will write another review if things change. Read less

Hilton refuses to treat their employees well and its abysmal! The cost of living in Hawaii is insane, and so are the profits that Hilton rakes in. They need to fairly negotiate with workers, so that everyone can enjoy their time here better. Fair contract now!

Do NOT visit this resort or book here until the labor dispute is over! There is no daily room service, very few workers in the hotel, and the constant bullhorn shouting, air horns, and honking noise from the protesters outside makes the experience miserable. They start at 5 in the morning and go until late in the night. They block the traffic coming and going and generally disrupt everything. I was here for a conference but I imagine if it was a vacation I would be angry. Read less

I was so excited to come and relax, but I was so wrong and disappointed. Their are at least three different buildings at over 300 rooms a piece adds up to allot of people, the place was cleaned but out dated, service at the bar was bad, we never got served and left. It’s close to our room so we tried again only to watch a family of four be treated the same way, the dad was so mad he poured mustard all over the table and left. Not one waitress came to clean but the daughter stayed and cleaned, once she left the waitress that should have helped or cleared it her self came over to the next couple and talked smack about the family. So unprofessional, she also watch the lady reclean the table and the floor and did nothing. Now we mention the fact that all the restaurants by the beach are closed, the pool for my building is closed and the best part no maid service because they went on strike so the second day we were woke up to honking horns and people on bull horns and it’s been that way for the rest of our trip. Not the best for a relaxation. So yes it’s close to the beach but if everything is closed or you get bad service or no service what’s the point. So disappointed. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Do better Hilton

Hilton has prioritized profits over customers and workers. Long lines, ridiculous wait times, no food, no room service, no toiletries all because they don't care about customer experience or the dignity of hotel workers. Do better Hilton.
