The trip was absolutely amazing! The staff was wonderful and always had smiles and great energy. The food was by far better than I expected. We had sushi 4 nights because of how incredible it was. The silent disco night was so much fun.

We traveled 7/12-7/19 a week after the Hurricane hit. We were initially worried about the status of the resort but chose to take the risk. Let me say that when we arrived you would never had known a category 4 hurricane had just hit. The resort and grounds were beautiful. The staff really did a tremendous job cleaning up. While there were still a few broken trees here and there, it was not noticeable or hindering to the overall trip. Some of the restaurants were closed on certain days but we were still able to east at all of them, so no issues there. The Room: we stayed in the Rondoval Butler category in room 4107. This room was absolutely amazing and was a great location. As we swam around the lazy river we noticed not every room had good locations/views. So we felt that 4107 had great privacy and location within this category. Anything from 4102 to 4109 seemed to be prime location, so try to ask for one of those rooms. The room itself was perfect. Very clean and well decorated. The plunge pool was fantastic and I probably spent more time in there than at the beach or other pools. Definitely recommend this category. We usually like ocean views but decided to change it up this trip and do not regret it. Resort and Ground: The resort is huge, and we thought that was a good thing. We like sprawling resorts that dont feel cramped and it was very enjoyable walking around. Not a bad view in sight as you walk from place to place. Most of the restaurants and entertainment are in the main central location which is nice, but there are other bars and seating areas scattered throughout the resort that you never feel like any part of the resort is "dead." Many of the bars across the resort are open late till 9pm or 10pm, with one being open till 2am. The resort has cats all throughout the property which we took as a pro. We love animals and all the cats were very clean, friendly, and healthy. Most of them would approach us for pets which we obliged. One of the hardest parts of leaving was have to leave the cats that we grew attached to over the week. With many visiting us at dinner or even on our beach chairs. Entertainment: Probably the best Sandals entertainment we have seen so far. We have been to 4 Sandals now and this one beats all of them. We love live music and every night had a variety of live music acts. From light music before dinner, to the main show featuring an amazing live band and vocalists, piano bar, to live musicians playing after hours with the DJ. There was always some kind of entertainment going on and it's a true testament to the resort teams to make that happen. Most nights had the live band and vocalists performing and they were incredible. Too talented to be performing at an all inclusive resort. The dance members and other performers were just as great. Dining: We always enjoy the food at Sandals and feel it's better than other all inclusive like Excellence or Secrets. And this resort is no exception. there were some dishes that looked and tasted like fine dining dishes which is really impressive for an all inclusive. We love that Sandals uses quality alcohol in the drinks and don't skimp on the amount. You can even ask for a double shot in your drink and they won't bat an eye. Most other all inclusive water down drinks or use lower quality spirits. As a butler guest you get access to unlimited wine/champagne bottles, and can request a bottle of your choice for the room. We had a bottle of champagne every morning on the beach to start the day and it was always there waiting for us on arrival. Pool/Beach: All the pools and beach areas were very clean and well maintained. They staff took great care to keep these areas clean for guests. The best area to swim is over by the Schooners restaurant near the over water bungalows. The water here was calmer and had no seaweed in the swimming area. Other areas appears to have more seaweed and bit rougher water (but still very calm since it is the Caribbean Sea). We sat at this beach spot every day and it was quiet and very relaxing. We did get stung in the ocean a few times by something. It would sting for about 10min then go away and not leave any marks. I know Jamaica can get small thimble jellyfish but those dont normally come that close to shore. But perhaps with the recent hurricane they were washed closer in. But still very enjoyable swimming in the water. All the pools were equally amazing. the main pool is huge and probably second in size to Emerald bay. Airport transfers: All transfers went smoothly. They say it's about 90min to and from, but due to some traffic in Montego Bay it was about 2hrs on arrival and just over 90min on departure. So keep that in mind. The ride was not that bad, but we're used to it having visited other islands with similar terrains. Weather: Given that a major hurricane had just passed through we had nothing to complain about. Every morning was bright and sunny with some storms/clouds rolling in around the afternoon. Which is typical for this time in the caribbean. We had 4 mostly sunny days and only a couple days with overcast afternoons. But we still swam and enjoyed the resort. A couple days had storms for about 1-2hrs but other than that it was very pleasant. Weather forecasts can't be trusted this time of year in the caribbean so you just have to go and see what you get. Either way you'll have an amazing time. Spa: While the spa services were great, the facilities could use some work. Given that the spa is the largest money maker on property it should really reflect that in order to entice guests to use the services more. The buildings and indoor facilities are aging quite a bit and do not match the same level as the rest of the resort. Staff and Service: Left the best for last. The staff at all Sandals resorts has always been incredible. Everyone goes above and beyond. Our butlers Tiffany and Shantelle were beyond amazing. They are super friendly and passionate about what they do. We don't really need much when on vacation. A reserved spot on the beach in the morning, some drinks throughout the day, lunch, and a snack in the room in the evening. So we don't really bother the butlers too much with requests. But both of them still went above and beyond to check in with us and bring us drinks/snacks even if we didn't ask. It's these little gestures that really make a trip memorable. And we are so grateful for everything they did. We did a private dinner in our room one night and Shantelle made the most amazing set up we've seen for a private dinner. It was better than the ones you have to pay for on the beach. She went out of her way to move furniture in the room to make a nice table setting with candle, flowers, decorations, etc. We did not expect that at all and were blown away by the work she put in just to make our stay a pleasant one. I'm probably leaving out a lot more but this is already very long. So thanks for reading and do not hesitate to book this resort! Read less

Just wow...we arrived a week after Hurricane Beryl and were definitely nervous on the conditions of the resort before getting there. The resort looked beautiful, landscaping amazing and they were still working on it. Yes, the wifi was on and off and there were a few power glitches, but the generator kicked on immediately offering no delays. We spoke to a lot of staff members about how they and their families were doing, most did not have power (no power/refrigerator/running water) but all were smiling and said other people have it worse. So any complaints about not having "wifi" - shame on those people. Phone calls went through with no issues at all, so we were able to check on family back home. What made this resort so special is ALL OF THE STAFF!! From checking in, to all restaurants/bars/food trucks/beach attendants/entertainment - and then checking out with the staff singing a goodbye song to us before we got on the transport to the airport - too many names to list but everyone just wanted to make sure WE HAD A GREAT TIME! They were happy that we still came down to the island to support their economy. I cannot say enough about everyone there - just WOW at their attitude and attention to the guests when you know they are having major issues at home. We had 2 people in our group with severe food allergies / celiac - and the chef always came out to explain what they could/could not eat. (just ask to speak to them about your allergy). They even made a special dinner if needed to make sure everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal. Our room was in the Dutch village - 4th floor. Beautiful large rooms, my favorite part was the outdoor soaking tub. I did not think I would really use it, but after a long day and night, a nice soak with a glass of bubbly just topped off the evening. Bring bath salts with you to make it that more relaxing. Recommend bug spray - the resort does not normally get that many mosquitos but because of the storm they were out in full force. But you saw the resort fogging to try and eliminate them - they did everything possible to make our stay comfortable, even moved a few events inside for comfort at night. All you need is a can of bug spray and you will be fine. Lunchtime favorite was the jerk shack - WOW I had to have it a few times. Great for a quick meal while you take a break from the beautiful beach or lovely pools (3 big pools). Would I return? Most definitely. Highly recommend this resort if you are traveling to Jamaica! I want to give a special mention to Chistann and the nurse, as my husband had a medical issue. Christann gave me the support that I needed and made me feel special, so thank you, it was I needed at that time . Just one little criticism for housekeeping, us ladies sometimes need to start getting ready early for dinner and room still being cleaned late afternoon is not helpful. Overall a lovely resort, nice staff and good food. Will definitely go back. Read less
