The hotel

This Caribbean-style resort is right on the banks of the picturesque Lake Davenport and it's laid out over 70 acres of landscaped gardens, making it a truly beautiful place to stay. It even has its own beach on the banks of the lake! The apartment-style condos are exceptionally well equipped and you'll really have no need to eat out, but if you don't want to cook there's a great restaurant on site. This resort is a fantastic place to be if you're the sporty type, with volleyball, basketball, tennis to contend with. Kids will love the playroom and games arcade, while adults can relax and listen to soft Caribbean music by the pool, or take advantage of the fabulous new spa, offering a myriad of treatments and a fitness centre to boot. At the end of the day, the clubhouse balcony is an ideal spot to watch the Disney fireworks light up the sky.

Stayed in many offsite hotels when visiting the Orlando and I can confirm this was the best yet large 2 bed family apartment clean and ideal for our family. Pool area was clean and tidy the staff were helpful and friendly and had no issues. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend people request building 14 room 1101.

Upon arriving we found a smashed light cover in the middle of the kitchen floor. Maintenance came immediately this was reported which was great. However the remaining experience with reception was extremely poor. We had noisy neighbours being woken between 3 and 4am every night. One occasion security came to request they be quiet, however on another occasion we were told it was a personal issue! We went to complain the next day at reception and were again met with a complete lack of care. We also reported the washing machine had ruined two items of clothing as it was leaking oil, all the receptionist wanted to do was take a photo of the clothes. No offer of compensation or a follow up on the issue. Mambo restaurant was closed the entire ten day stay. Trade winds was good, however the food was limited, no real vegetarian options. The pool areas were both lovely with plenty of sun beds. Upon first inspection the condo looked however, upon closer look it was not. Dust on shelves, toilet roll holders, in corners. The sheets and towels had stains on them. It was very dated, the fridge had rust spots all over the front, the washing machine was broken and as advised above leaked oil on our clothes. The view from the balcony was great over the lake. I wish we had booked a villa as price point not much in it! Read less

This resort is really nice and with a few alterations could be so much better. Overall the grounds are really well maintained, clean and tidy. Mambos bar is no longer open, but no explanation why. Tradewinds bar and restaurant is great and really well priced, the strawberry daiquiris and pizzas were lovely, but it closed at 8pm, if it stayed open… Read more

The issue we and others experienced is that there were insufficient loungers at the pool where Tradewinds is, therefore people went to the pool at the club house but mambos is closed so they couldnt buy any drinks. If mambos reopened so people had more than one place to eat and get drinks and there was more seating on the beach, and Tradewinds stayed open until 10 this resort would be so much better. Read less

Lot of apartments for sale at New Higher prices, many have taken the money and run.. New owners looking for higher rental prices making the place for regulars too high. Can be noisy at times,not what it used to be,management slow to deal with problems. Good luck to the owners looking for silly prices and big profits.
