They may call themselves a ‘base camp’, but that’s definitely only in spirit — not in style. Thanks to its location, Banff Aspen Lodge is favoured by those wanting to pitch up and experience all the attractions of this popular ski and spa town, from its snow sports to its famous hot springs. But its style is far from ‘base camp’. Smart and swanky, its rustic-meets-chic décor is matched by a series of extra touches that make an ‘outdoorsy’ holiday uncharacteristically comfortable, like complimentary WiFi, ski and bike storage, the coffee and cake-stocked Whitebark Café, and a steam room and sauna for soothing adventure-weary muscles. You can start your day filling up at the breakfast buffet, with its local bacon and sausages and home-baked treats. And you can end it in an outdoor hot tub with a crackling fireplace.

Great central location

Great location, staff helpful and friendly. Free parking. Coffee shop on-site a bonus. Sauna and pool well maintained, and great after a long day. Comfortable beds very clean. Breakfast was a bit 'hectic' lots of coach loads all in at the same time.
Amazaing experience.

As a travel professional, I highly recommend this hotel. It is perfectly located, immaculately clean, and has the friendliest, kindest, and most professional staff. The breakfast has a big variety. Also, the hotel will pack you a breakfast box to go if you would like to leave early and not have breakfast im the dining room.

Great hotel, centrally situated in Banff but quiet. Comfortable, spacious room. Staff friendly and helpful, especially Rodney on reception. Buffet style breakfast. Impressed with how well a staff member dealt with an unreasonable, rude guest.

Just spent 6 days at the Aspen. The first 5 nights I stayed on the 3rd floor with balcony facing the Main Street. The bed was comfortable and the room was quite big. No noise from other rooms, very quiet. The room was cleaned except the carpet is in need of deep clean. I wear white socks when in the room and they were dirty right away. I would give a 4 star to the premium room. The last night we had to move to a room on the first floor facing the fireplace near the hot tub. The room was incredibly small and you could hear piping noise coming from the ceiling all night none stop and next room noise as well. We know of two other couples staying across from us who experienced the same piping noise all night. I would give a 2 star to that room. There is a big difference in rooms at that hotel. Staff at the front desk and at breakfast were very friendly and nice.
