As soon as you arrive, you’ll see the natural stone and soothing wood panelling, like a giant Alpine-style retreat. This one overlooks the picturesque Sierra mountain range and Lake Tahoe. You can even enjoy these views from the picture windows in your room which, handily, is soundproofed to make sure you get a good night’s sleep. You may need it after exploring Heavenly's trails. Plus there’s so much to do here, from gambling in the casino and taking in one of the shows, to dining in fabulous restaurants (or in the all-you-can-eat buffet if you’re really hungry!). If all that sounds far too strenuous by half, fear not. The spa treatments, steam room, heated pool and sauna are all perfect for relaxing.

The fun and excitement is not there anymore. Tahoe is going back to the old " bad" state it was before the tram came into town. Harvey's I refuse to stay in. Hard rock which just got bout out is really bad. Supposedly all these places are " renovating " for the last 3 years. Nothing.
Stayed at an Indian casino a few days back. Beautiful clean. No parking charges. No resort fees. The " Brian" who replies and has his description as " hotel owner" keeps saying exciting things are coming. I doubt the owner would be replying. Anyway couldn't take a shower in one bathroom. Picture explains that. Tub has paint splattered everywhere. Sheets were barely tucked in. Old. Very old furniture. Unless your room is free ( not really, 20 plus resort fee and parking fees at 20$ a day) Tables 25$ minimum if they are open. Just no fun anymore.

Love the area and scenery, but renovate this hotel

Beautiful 5 star location, two bathrooms, room is spacious, but the hotel rooms need a re-do. The rooms are clean, but the furnishings are showing wear and tear, and we've been visiting for decades, so we know. Restaurants are walking distance (or eat in the hotel). Try BaseCamp toward the Heavenly Valley shopping area.

Very disappointed we were given an upgrade for $90 a night and our last night we found out we were in the old section not remodeled from the 70s and quite truthfully it was very dirty. I travel about 30 times a year-- absolutely one of my favorite!! Sure Tahoe is beautiful, but this hotel magnifies the experience for me. I don't gamble, but it is very peaceful and introspective for me.
Grateful for the discount too.

A hard fall from grace

Harrahs used to be the best hotel in Stateline, Nevada. I’ve been staying there off and on for 50 years. As of August 15, 2024, it has gone from best to one of the worst. The doors leading to the rooms are scarred and chipped. The furniture in the rooms is cracked and damaged in various ways. Wallpaper and paint are peeling. The service is spotty at best. Self parking which used to be free is now $17.00 a night. A letter to the assistant hotel director detailing these problems was never responded to. Caesar’s apparently doesn’t care. I will never stay there again. You shouldn’t either.
