First time in Mammoth and I’m very happy to have stayed at the Westin. I was greeted by Kelly and Willow who went above and beyond in their services, even offering sparkling wine upon my arrival. I’ll note that I did not partake since I don’t drink on the job, but kindly declined and chatted with them to learn more about the history of Mammoth and what it has to offer. If it wasn’t for their services I wouldn’t have known how to enjoy Mammoth, let alone find a peaceful village tucked under the hill, just a 5 minute stroll from the lobby, to which I decided this will be the only hotel I should ever stay at in Mammoth since everything is practically in good reach. I’ll also note that my breakfast was very nice with generous portions. I made sure to thank the chefs. I believe one of their names were Kim. In summary, it was a relaxing stay that deserves to be relived only in Westin’s well-known and warm arms of hospitality. Read less

My family and I have been loyal guests at this resort since its grand opening, and every visit is eagerly anticipated, regardless of the season. First, let's highlight the positives: the resort's location is truly idyllic, offering breathtaking views that never fail to impress. However, there are some notable areas that need improvement. The staff would benefit from more comprehensive training, as they often appear to lack essential resort knowledge and, regrettably, some interactions have been marred by rudeness, despite our visits coinciding with their quieter periods. Furthermore, the resort itself is in need of a significant overhaul. Upon arrival, we were met with urns containing dead flowers, which, while understandable in the fall, could have been removed and the entrance tidied. The remodeled rooms, including the two-bedroom suite we stayed in, were not without issues. We encountered mold in the showers and aging kitchen appliances that were not functioning properly. Even the bartender seemed to lack expertise in drink preparation, which was disappointing. Overall, while the resort undeniably possesses the potential for a luxurious 5-star experience, there are several areas that require attention to ensure a consistently excellent stay for all guests. This resort is in a great location and provides parking. There's a restaurant and bar on-site. While the hotel does need some updating, the staff makes up for it. From the moment I arrived, Willow was so welcoming and helpful. I had some trouble with the door in my first room and she was helpful in relocating me. Every time I saw her she was always friendly and upbeat. David and Holly in the restaurant/bar White Bark, were also great. I was in the area for a solo birthday adventure. The staff here made it so special. The hotel is close to lots of hiking options. Just what I needed to celebrate another trip around the sun. Read less

We had an incredible experience at the Westin. We had a long drive from San Diego and were going to stay in Bishop for the night but all the good hotels were booked. We decided to drive to Mammoth and stay at the Westin since we are Marriott Bonvoy members. Not only were we greeted so warmly by Thu but discovering that it was my birthday, Thu gave us a great room on the 5th floor and a bottle of wine as a gift. Hotel room was very clean and bed was so amazing. The kitchenette was a bit worn but since its a ski hotel I guess thats understandable. Loved the inclosed free garage parking. Read less
