Slipping in care, maintenance and services. We have been visiting the Westin for the last 3 years - during the winter months & typically stay 2-3 weekends each year. We were here for 3 nights just after Thanksgiving day & I have to say the hotel does not seem ready for guests. They definitely are charging high in season rates but the didn’t have enough staff, the ski valet was not ready, the pool was not working, the hot tub jets were not working, our room had trash in it from previous occupants and we kept getting conflicting information from the staff about all of the above. The hot tub was so dirty I can’t even explain how many floating bandaids and moldy tiles there were! The floor was extra dirty like someone dumped soil into the hot tub- there’s no excuse for that. Of note, Some staff were nice and helpful such as housekeeping and restaurant staff. Based on this poor experience & lack of willingness to address anything during our visit- we will not be staying here any longer. Why on earth should I pay such high rates for such poor service and amenities. Read less

Her smile is so sincere and it makes my day. I wish more people like her in hospitality industry. I went down to see the manager Carolina (Chile) to give compliment to Anastasia, she told me to write a review on TripAdvisor so I m current doing it now. She is a very down-to-earth manager, she’s so polite and full of smiles as well. The third person I would like to give compliment to is Mr Freddy (France) at the Concierge, he is very helpful and knowledgeable about the surroundings attraction, although he is only 4 days at his job, he is so professional, very polite and full of smiles. I will definitely come back to this property in the future and highly recommended. Everybody in this property is amazing and should use them as the benchmark how hospitality industry should be. Keep up the good works 👍👍 Read less

I’ll note that I did not partake since I don’t drink on the job, but kindly declined and chatted with them to learn more about the history of Mammoth and what it has to offer. If it wasn’t for their services I wouldn’t have known how to enjoy Mammoth, let alone find a peaceful village tucked under the hill, just a 5 minute stroll from the lobby, to which I decided this will be the only hotel I should ever stay at in Mammoth since everything is practically in good reach. I’ll also note that my breakfast was very nice with generous portions. I made sure to thank the chefs. I believe one of their names were Kim. In summary, it was a relaxing stay that deserves to be relived only in Westin’s well-known and warm arms of hospitality. Read less

My family and I have been loyal guests at this resort since its grand opening, and every visit is eagerly anticipated, regardless of the season. First, let's highlight the positives: the resort's location is truly idyllic, offering breathtaking views that never fail to impress. However, there are some notable areas that need improvement. The staff would benefit from more comprehensive training, as they often appear to lack essential resort knowledge and, regrettably, some interactions have been marred by rudeness, despite our visits coinciding with their quieter periods. Furthermore, the resort itself is in need of a significant overhaul. Upon arrival, we were met with urns containing dead flowers, which, while understandable in the fall, could have been removed and the entrance tidied. The remodeled rooms, including the two-bedroom suite we stayed in, were not without issues. We encountered mold in the showers and aging kitchen appliances that were not functioning properly. Even the bartender seemed to lack expertise in drink preparation, which was disappointing. Overall, while the resort undeniably possesses the potential for a luxurious 5-star experience, there are several areas that require attention to ensure a consistently excellent stay for all guests.
