We have just returned from the most wonderful 10 nights in paradise. Thank you to all the staff at Maritim for the best experience. My husband and I stayed in one of the suites which have access to a private beach and butler service courtesy of the single best staff member we have ever had, Jay. Jay couldn’t do more for us - dinner reservations, cocktails and drinks mixed exactly how we liked it, table service on the beach for lunch - a very kind, funny, caring and attentive and Maritim, he is a huge asset to your wonderful hotel. Staff - whilst Jay needed his own mention I also want to also give praise to Miss Rattee who multitasked and looked after every guest so well. The barmen Naresh and Nish who work so incredibly hard, thank you for my lovely spicy margaritas! Ashi, Fabrice, Ishwary at La Maree. The fabulous GM at le Chateau and his team who gave us an A class experience, all the wonderful attentive staff who created delicious dishes at La Banyan and the Belle Vue team who looked after us. Food/AI - I was genuinely worried about some of the negative reviews on here about the all inclusive options/food etc and I have to say those reviews sound like a different hotel. We enjoyed every single meal - the buffet had something for everyone at breakfast, lunch and dinner. La Maree gave us a special setting, Le Banyan was delicious, the BBQ on the beach and Le Chateau was true fine dining. The main difference between the AI and Premium AI are the drinks which didn’t bother us. Yes some food options had a supplement but you are talking about the odd £2-£3 but the options included for AI was more than sufficient. Rooms - we stayed in one of the suites and loved it - spacious, cleaned to a high standard, sea facing and tranquil. Being able to have breakfast at La Maree on the beach was special. The plus is the private beach with the table service - we stayed on the beach everyday bar the first day where we stayed by the pool. Once we got onto the beach though, we found the perfect setting. Animal reserve/ruins - this really gives this hotel true Mauritian heritage, culture and character. We saw some other high end hotels but a lot could be mistaken for being in Europe with no real character. The animal rescue they do is so good and we enjoyed our walk to see it all. Location - one of the best beaches we’ve been lucky to stay at. We also went to Le Morne and it doesn’t compare. The beach was peaceful, calm and a highlight. My husband and I are well travelled and we don’t usually return to the same place but the Maritim hotel and wonderful staff have changed that! We met so many other couples who are returners and I know we will be joining that list too! We are already looking into going back next year. Please don’t allow any negative reviews to put you off booking this truly magical resort. Read less

A big thank you to Ishwaree, Sarita and Ramesh at La Mare restaurant for being so friendly, efficient and attentive and to Nis the bar man who was amazing at multi tasking between mixing wonderful cocktails and making sure everyone was happy and being looked after. We were also very fortunate to have Jay who looked after our every need on the beach, he was funny and exceptionally good at his job, he was always there to advise on the menu and assist with reservations etc. and we were lucky to have him pamper us for the time we were there. Thank you also to the staff at the Chateau and La Banyan, again for their excellent service and friendliness. Thanks again all from Brenda and Richard Parsons Read less

Don’t know where to start, when things go right which you do expect when staying somewhere like this it’s amazing but when things go wrong like they did for me (health wise) boy did this team stand out!! They were all beyond amazing they were exceptional every single one of them!! I was hospitalised during my stay here, absolutely nothing to do with the hotel, but that didn’t matter to them!! As far as they were concerned I was there guest and nothing else mattered, it was not only reassuring it was a massive weight taken off my mind, a place where I didn’t have to worry when I got back, they allowed me to eat in all the speciality restaurants as my mobility is severely affected so the main restaurant wouldn’t be easy to manover, they sent out for pain relief and didn’t charge me, they bent over backwards to make sure the rest of my holiday was outstanding. Every member of staff that I have passed have asked if I need help, they have been concerned almost to a fault - I will never forget their kindness, their hospitality or their genuine concern. Too many staff to mention by name who stand out because it is genuinely every single one of them!!! Thank you to the entire team for all you help and making what could have been the holiday from hell into something far more spectacular than I could have ever dreamed of!!! Much love to you all. My husband had had a bad knee for the last couple of days and the hotel even sent a car to the pharmacy for deep heat. We’ve come as guests and will be leaving as family. Brenda has looked after us every day with a huge smile. Ashleigh and Sarita have looked after us every day at breakfast. The F&B manager spends time getting to know his guests and is a lovely man. Hoping my husbands leg gets better so we can spend more time in the beautiful grounds. Thank you for looking after us so well 🇲🇺❤️🥰🌅 Read less

Just back from another visit to our favourite hotel. We came here for our honeymoon a few years ago and this was our fifth trip - this time celebrating my wife’s ’significant’ birthday. It’s a really lovely hotel and the staff are so friendly and helpful. One of the highlights of a stay here is to have breakfast at La Marée beach restaurant, looked after by Ishwaree, Fabrice and their colleagues. Dylan and his colleagues at the bar will keep you refreshed throughout the day and bring you some toasties etc for a light lunch. After a day on the beach or by the pool it’s great to have a sundowner on the terrace at the Quarterdeck and admire the sunset over the Indian Ocean. There is a newly-appointed barman called Fowdar who was really helpful and attentive. Most evenings we ate in the main buffet restaurant, which always has a good selection of food (the Diwali buffet was especially tasty) but also we had a meal on the beach at La Marée and treated ourselves to some fine dining at the Chateau Mon Desir. We were sad to go, although a nice chat with the doorman Krishna kept us smiling. All in all this is a terrific hotel with a lovely location and wonderful staff. I’m sure we’ll be back. Read less
