We probably would never come back here. Checkin process was awful. We were very very early, on the resort by noon. I understand that a room would not be ready for us, but we were told they were currently cleaning our room, and we would be able to get in there first thing! But we didn't get the room till 3:05. Then after checkin in at the desk, you are whisked to the neighboring desk for "dumb coupons". They try to make it sound inviting.. oh did you get your coupons yet?!?!?!? You must get your coupons; they basically offer nothing. At the coupon table you are told that because they want to wow us, the massage that is over $300 bucks would be discounted if we came to a breakfast. I already knew it was about a timeshare, so I declined, and they insisted that it was not a timeshare... it's a vacation club. (Vacation club=timeshare). Do they think people are dumb? We were told the breakfast for the timeshare would be an hour and a half but talked with other guests who verified it was well over 3 hours long. Not how I'd want to spend my vacation. The room was nice and spacious, BUT there was a smell which I cannot describe I the room. Partly smelled like chemical and mildew? I'm not sure. The room was soooooo damp the first day/night the sheets and pillows were damp. Then the next day it seemed fine so we thought that maybe it was just humid that first day. But another night/day we could not get the air to cool the room and couldn't get it below 23C which is 73.5F, for us almost 74 to sleep in is way too hot. The bathroom in our ocean front was huge. And we loved the shower! But in the shower in the corner was black mold, very unsafe. We loved the design of the hotel, and liked that there were multiple shops. There was also a great coffee shop. Prices were very high compared to the second resort we went to. What I didn't appreciate is when my husband made a joke about a lighter to the male clerk, the clerk wanted to know what my husband enjoyed smoking, when my husband stated weed, my husband got a lecture in a condescending tone about how it was illegal to smoke weed on the property and all my husband needed was for the "right" person to find him smoking weed for him to get himself into some trouble. We found this to be extremely rude because there are sooooooo many people on the resort smoking weed out in the open. AND guess who was selling the weed?!?!? Workers on the resort! Not just one worker... multiple workers! Why doesn't he find the workers who are selling the stuff and lecture them! We found most of the food to be terrific. Buffet had a large selection and a few made to order grills. We ate at the italian place and it was great, and then we tried the mexican place. While eating at the mexican place a roach walked right up the wall by my husband's head. He smashed it with his napkin and we chose to say nothing until checkout. We were really turned off about that, that was the ultimate decision that we would probably never ever visit this place again. I understand this is the tropics, and I know they have bugs, but this was my 7th time in Jamaica and this is the only resort I have ever seen a roach... and it was in a restaurant... YUCK. This is the only all inclusive resort I have ever been to where they did not have a free lobster night, at this place it was $50 per lobster. This was our first stay in Montego Bay. We found the workers not to be very friendly and some seemed like they were annoyed. Asking any of the bartenders for a drink, it seemed like I was bothering them. The waitress on the beach who takes orders and brings drinks was nasty to another vacationer on the beach. Only thing I can think of is that the workers are from the city and have a city life attitude. The worst thing about the resort is the beach! The beach is very important to us and this was the worst beach we've ever experienced. Rocks everywhere, grass and other stuff growing in the swimming area. There are three beaches and each one is worse than the next. Sand is very loose. Beach chairs are very uncomfortable. Beach bar is far away. They have a beach grill, but only 1 person working there. Had to wait in line 30+ minutes for the 1 worker to cook the chicken, cut the chicken, then serve the chicken, she was also an angry person. The 1 other time we went to the beach grill, they said they had no food, it was the middle of the day! Read less

Lovely Hotel. Property was very well maintained. Clean beaches, accommodating staff. Overall very satisfied with the hotel property, rooms, food, drinks, and entertainment. Will definitely return. Close to the airport yet no noise from passing planes (also a plus).

After our incredible experience last year at Secrets in Montego Bay, my wife and I couldn’t wait to return. We found ourselves counting down the days until our next trip. This year was nothing short of spectacular. The service at Secrets in Montego Bay is, without a doubt, the best we’ve ever encountered. Last year’s service exceeded our expectations, and we didn’t think it could get any better. Yet this year surpassed even that; we were treated like royalty. Countless individuals went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect experience. They welcomed us “back home” with open arms, making us feel like family. It’s this amazing service that keeps us coming back each year. Andre and Davion – Buttler services They attended to every request before we could even ask, having chairs and towels with a cooler ready for us at the beach each morning. They made dinner reservations for us every night and organized our excursions for the week. Their attention to every detail is unmatched. It’s this unparalleled service that keeps us coming back year after year. Andre is unlike any butler we have encountered; he has made a lasting impression on us. He consistently checks in throughout the year and has even helped us prepare Jamaican-style meals from Canada via video chats. He has truly become a trusted friend, offering unique insights into everyday life in Jamaica. Without Andre, Secrets would not feel the same. Through video chats, text messages, and phone calls, we’ve had the privilege of learning about his family while sharing stories about ours. He has taken the time to introduce us to his family and connect with ours. Andre has welcomed us to Jamaica each year and made us part of his Jamaican family, and we couldn’t be more grateful! Shanomar – Preferred Bar. Last year, we had the wonderful opportunity to meet Shanomar, who instantly became someone we looked forward to seeing every day. Her ability to make us feel welcomed is unmatched. She has shared countless stories about her childhood growing up in Jamaica, and her storytelling captivates your attention, creating an instant connection. One of our best nights this year was spent in the preferred bar, conversing for hours—time just flew by. She makes the absolute best Jamaican lemonades, drawing on her unique style that dates back to her childhood on the farm, where juice was traditionally prepared. When we finally saw her this year, it was instant hugs and a feeling of family. We can’t wait to return next year for more lemonade and more amazing stories. We look forward to staying in touch and couldn’t be more thankful for her. She is so much more than just a bartender; without her, Secrets would feel like it’s missing someone special. Chris Brown – Concierge Chris did so much more than just help us with our bags. Introduced to us by our butlers, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. With every interaction, he made us laugh and smile, leaving a lasting impression. Tuscin – Life guard Tuscin was someone we looked forward to chatting with each day in the swim-out area, as he was stationed not far from our room. It began with a simple “Good morning” or “Good night” as we passed by, or while retrieving towels. He quickly became someone we missed when he wasn’t around. Whether it was in passing by a pool or beach he always gave us a wave or a hello. Always willing to help with anything we needed, we can’t wait to return, look forward to staying in touch. He made sure he came to find us our last day and wish us safe travels. Richard Dixon Richard was someone who immediately stepped in to ensure everything was up to the highest standards. Every morning, he made himself available, stopping by our room to make sure nothing was less than perfect during our stay. He emphasized that no request was too small or too big. After we were relocated due to some upgrades, Richard went above and beyond to ensure our happiness. He made us feel welcomed back, even amid the challenges of unforeseen circumstances, working tirelessly to make sure we felt valued. Sashonie – Pool bar. During our stay, Sashonie greeted us with smiles every time we ordered a drink—whether we were sitting by the beach, in the swim-out area, or at the bar. She ensured that every drink was perfect and offered helpful suggestions for new ones to try, making sure our cups were never empty. Her friendliness was contagious, and each time we saw her, we couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear. Secrets Montego Bay offers stunning beaches, delicious food, and an unforgettable experience. The resort is nothing short of paradise; the immaculate beaches and breathtaking views create a perfect backdrop. Local vendors bring authentic Jamaican goods right to the resort. Onsite stores offer a variety of goods from Jamaican coffee to take home souvenirs. The food is everything you could ask for and more—from freshly made omelets in the morning to from-scratch burgers at lunch. The authentic jerk chicken and curry chicken were absolutely delicious. Dining options are endless from buffets to French, Italian, Mexican and Jamaican cuisines. The coffee bar offers endless drink options throughout the day. Bars are cleverly themed and spread across the resort they offer numerous drink options only steps away. The sunset views from the rooftop restaurant at Breathless left us in awe. Dining at hibachi, Glen not only prepared a five-star meal but also entertained us with his humor and flair. Night time entertainment keeps the energy going well past dinner with uniquely crafted acts and themed events keeping you engaged and on the edge of your seat. The resort strives for nothing less than perfection, making you feel truly immersed in paradise. As beautiful as the resort is, it's the people who make it feel like home year after year. Their friendship means more to us than we could have ever asked for; they have truly become family. We feel incredibly blessed to have met this amazing group. They make our vacation each year and are the reason we keep booking with Secrets in Montego Bay. Our vacation wouldn’t feel the same without these wonderful individuals. It is they who make Secrets feel like home, welcoming us back every year. These individuals are the reason we will be making Secrets Montego Bay our vacation destination for the third consecutive year next year. Read less

Wild orchid preferred side under construction! Swim up rooms have no water and your view is construction site. I wasn’t informed until after I checked in but it was clear this started many days prior to my arrival. There’s no option to switch rooms.
