The hotel

Part of the Cape Town social scene, this iconic hotel attracts discerning locals and travellers to its vibrant Bascule Bar. Known for its whisky, wine, and cocktails (and tapas), sundowners in the bar are just one of Cape Grace’s dining and drinking experiences, with others including daily wine orientation with an excellent sommelier in the award-winning Signal Restaurant which is extremely impressive. Sat on it’s own quay between the working harbour and the yacht basin, with stunning views of Table Mountain; this luxurious hotel gives a personal and quality service that is epitomised by it’s individually decorated rooms. Each room has it’s own “story”, with local artwork and rare antiques to complement the theme, and deluxe amenities that form the quiet luxury of Cape Grace. The chauffeur service is ideal for visiting Table Mountain, or for evening trips out to local restaurants - of which there are plenty nearby.

We've traveled extensively, and very rarely do you find a hotel that meets (and exceeds) your expectations in all areas. The Cape Grace does just that, from your welcome at the front door to the easy check-in, the fantastic room quality/space, and the staff are genuine/caring. Our experience at Cape Grace was further enhanced by the impeccable Room Service and SPA facilities. Both services were flawless, adding to the overall perfection of our stay. The value here is in the staff and attention to detail. They don't miss anything. Read less

Beautiful hotel easy walking distance to the shopping complex. Check in was easy and all of the employees are very friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Would stay here when we come back. Breakfast in the restaurant was well presented and great tasting.

This is the first hotel I've stayed in in SA that matches a 5 star hotel in Europe or the UK with the friendliness of Africa. A truly magnificent place with large, beautifully designed rooms. The wall panelling and high ceilings give an elegant spacious feel along with the crafted wooden floors and unique artwork. The beds are out-of-this-world comfortable and a nice extra is the dressing room area where suitcases are stored giving more space and less clutter in the actual bedroom. All this in the smallest room which is over 40 square meters! We stayed in a room with French doors opening onto a view of the mountain and the yachts. The amenities are ample, some of which are Le Labo -a favourite brand of ours. A nice touch was the fabric wash for handwashing socks and underwear. There are so many little extras- even a USbC charging port( that's one I haven't even seen overseas yet!) I asked for oat milk for my coffee and was given a full litre carton of the highest quality oat milk- another considerate and generous gesture. The breakfasts are A la carte- a small but ample menu with some really delicious choices. I tries the coconut Birchers muesli and the yogurt with fruit and a delicious peanut butter mousse. My husband had the omelette with cheese and smoked hake- also got a 10/10. Their fresh juices are actually freshly squeezed and absolutely delicious. Service and friendliness of staff from parking boom attendant to reception to housekeeping makes you feel like you're amongst friends. I cannot wait to return - Thank you to all of you who made our stay so memorable! Read less
